OMG, The Phone is GREAT and works perfectly with Cell2Jack
I am totally blown away with the quality of this reproduction of the classic Western Electric F500. The quality is amazing... Handset feels great. Internals of the handset work and sound perfect, just like the original, i.e. - a joy to use. Ringer sounds amazing, totally metallic and correct. Not too loud, but loud enough, particularly if you place the phone on a flat hard surface. If you want it quieter, just put it on a table with a towel top or fabric cover. Now, HOW to use in 2023... So, there is this device on Amazon called: Cell2Jack. This is a small, inexpensive device, that will shunt your cell phone calls to THIS RETRO PHONE via BlueTooth. I.E. - You do not need a landline or VOIP to use this!!! It's so easy to set up, just pair with your cell phone and poof, this phone will start receiving calls and ringing when a call is incoming. It's so fun, and fantastic. And... and and and, you can easily use this retro phone to call out, so you pick up the handset, and guess what, you actually hear a dial tone!!!! Then, you simply dial your number and it connects, just like it was a landline. You can have your cellphone many feet from you, and silence the ringer, so only the repro phone rings. I got the Black one, which is so 1950s/1960s retro. This phone dials as a pulse dial, but in the background, converts to tone... which means you can do everything with it, that you can do on a regular cell call. It also has the pound and asterisk. This whole setup, the phone and the Cell2Jack, was both only aound 80 buck-a-roos. What a deal, and what fun! You can also use this Cell2Jack with other old phones. It's an amazing little device!!! Anyway, for the money this is one great phone! I sure hope this company makes other retro models, like the 1940s Western Electric 302, which is really a beautiful model.

Interesting phone
Bought this for my vintage loving teenage daughter. She acquired a 1940's gossip bench and I thought this phone would look perfect with it. She purchased a cell adapter, due to not having a landline, and the phone sound quality works great. The phone is much lighter than an original, but the design is very good and easy to use.

Great retro phone!
Phone is very nice.it feels sturdy and like it will last a long time. It's very solid. The sound quality is surprisingly very good. Clear and crisp sound. Ringer is also good and it has a high and low feature. Roaty dial is nostalgic and fun to dial. I purchased a the bright red phone and absolutely love it! If you are looking for a conversation piece but this phone!!

Excellent Reproduction with only two minor caveats
This is a nice retro phone! As is explained well in the description, it is a landline phone, like an rj11-phone-cable into-the-wall kind of phone, not a standalone or Bluetooth device. My first one arrived broken, the dial spun and clicked but the numbers didn't register. I could dial the phone with a DTMF tone generator no problem, but the dial was broken. It did receive calls and ring. I sent it back and sent for a replacement. It arrived promptly and functions perfectly, so that was hopefully just a rare DOA unit.Audio quality isn't bad for what is supposed to be an old telephone! Volume is a little low, but that could just be on my end. I am not using this as a true landline, it's connected to the Cell2Jack adapter which allows me to wirelessly connect it to my cell phone by Bluetooth. For this purpose it works perfectly! The ringer is loud and sounds good and not cheapy, and there's a satisfying -click- when you hang up.Now, two things that irritate me. First, and worst, is the gaudy, ugly, golden logo in the middle of the dial. "MEDAL OF TIMES, your memory" is a nonsense phrase presumably conceived by someone with limited casual English proficiency, and adds absolutely nothing to the aesthetics of the phone. In my case, it actually ruined the look overall as it made it obvious this was a reproduction. Lose that gaudy thing. Please. I replaced mine, as shown in the image, with a custom made local telecom company logo. If you aren't as artsy as that, you can simply pop the clear plastic cover out (carefully, don't break it!) and flip the paper underneath upside-down to the blank side. Problem solved.Second issue, the cord is black, which I don't mind, but it's also stiff. Stiff enough that you cannot pull the phone more than 4 feet from the base without physically towing the whole thing off the table. If you want to replace the cord, the handset is hard-wired. You will need to replace the handset as well as the cord. So if you want a red cord or a long cord or whatever, plan to replace the handset too. I currently have no intention of doing so, but it certainly could be a future inconvenience, and I've pulled plenty of phones off of tables in my years and would rather not do so with this one.Overall an excellent product, I love well-made retro stuff and this is well-made. Time will tell how long it lasts. Four stars only because I had one arrive broken, and the two minor issues mentioned above.

A phone for those with style
This was such a hit with the teenage students! Good value, ready to go. Calls were clear. Lightweight and stylish. All pieces functioned out of the box. A must for a conversation piece.

Disappointed
I ordered this item as a Christmas gift. Disappointed in the product, it does not work when connected to phone line. Instruction Manuel was a joke.

Love Retro Phone
I love the look and feel of this retro phone. The ringer needs to be louder, but I seldom answer it anyway. I have it for emergencies, like when the cell phones don't work. I recommend it if you like retro stuff.
