perfect for someone who doesn't want to take too much ...
This is a cheap and simple case, perfect for someone who doesn't want to take too much away from the beautiful design of the Pixel 2 XL and wants to protect the device without the use of a case that more than doubles its size. When I received my Pixel 2 XL at the end of October there were very few cases available and in stock. This was one of the cases available at the time, and honestly wasn't even my first or second choice. However, this case has proved itself. The day I received this case my Pixel 2 XL was slapped out of my hand while standing on the sidewalk. I watched in slow motion as my phone tumbled onto the cement. My Pixel was 100% fine. Not even a scratch. The front of the case has a raised lip which protects the screen and allows you to rest the device on a flat surface, screen down, if you prefer. The camera cut out on the back is raised enough so that you can lay the phone down without worrying about the camera bump. The power and volume buttons are raised on the side, and all cut outs are aligned properly. I really like how easy the case is to remove and install. Sometimes you feel like you're about to break your phone with how stiff and difficult to work with some phone cases are. That is not the case...with this case =)Active Edge works and works well with this case! You may want to adjust your sensitivity settings depending on your preferences, however I did not feel the need to do so (I have mine set to about 50% if memory serves me right). The case doesn't add too much thickness to the device and is pretty minimalistic, which is nice. Some reviewer did not appreciate the text around the edges of the case. While perhaps not ideal, I don't see this as a problem. The text states "Designed in Irvine, California. Made in South Korea" on one side. On the top it says "AIR CUSHION TECHNOLOGY". On the other side is the Spigen logo and text. I noticed this once, when I first got the case, and that was it. You don't really see it ever since you're looking at the phone, not the case, and especially not the side of the case anyway. However if this bothers you then be aware of it.If I had to complain, I'd say it feels like you need to "dip your finger in the hole" to use the rear fingerprint reader. It's honestly not bad at all. I think it's mostly due to using the device with no case versus using it with any case makes it seem worse than it really is. The cut out for the fingerprint reader is beveled - maybe a more exaggerated bevel could alleviate the "dip in hole" feeling, but this isn't much of an issue for me, however YMMV. The important thing is the case doesn't hinder my ability to unlock my phone. There is a fair amount of dust that will start to accumulate around the edges of the case/screen and around the camera and other cut outs. This is unfortunately just in the nature of plastic cases, and the fact that many of us keep our phones in our pockets. I do not believe this is a fault of the case, as this happens with all cases in my experience. However, since it's easy to work with a remove it makes wiping off the pocket lint pretty easy.TL;DR - the real test for me was having my Pixel 2 XL slapped out of my hands on the sidewalk. This case protected my phone perfectly - this is honestly exactly why I have a phone case, and an $11 case did the job just fine. I'm more than happy with it. Also it doesn't hinder my ability to use the phone - fingerprint reader and Active Edge work well with this case.

PERFECT!
I'm writing this review coming from the Nexus 6P and using the Spigen Liquid Crystal case for the past 2 years. In case you don't have experience with it, the 6P version is actually 2 materials in one unit. The back was hard plastic and the sides were pliable and similar to this new case for the Pixel XL 2. My only issues with the original were that these 2 materials began to separate and it also stained blue from my jeans over time. Of course, this new case is all the same material, so I shouldn't have issues with splitting, but I am worried more about the staining. This must have been a known issue with the original since Spigen included a Zeiss cleaning wipe with the case and an illustration about cleaning stains. Even if it does start to look discolored after 6-12 months, the price makes it easy to replace. This new case feels like it has more material than the one I've carried for 2 years. Even with less material, it kept my 6P safe from damage during numerous drops from waist high. I'm hoping to have the same experience with the Pixel 2 XL, so that's why I came back to the same manufacturer and design.Pros:- Every cutout is perfectly aligned and easy to access. The fingerprint reader, the charge port, camera opening, and microphone. Everything!- The buttons are easy to push.- Perfect amount of grip without attracting lint.- Comes out of my pocket easily and without hangups.- Easy to install and take off for cleaning.- Screen and camera are protected on flat surfaces.- "Air Cushion Technology" has worked well for 2 years.Cons: (none really)- As others have said, there is some writing on the side of the side stating where its made. This is not a big deal to me and I haven't really noticed it since opening the package, but I'd rather not have it there.

Nicer than the clear Speck case it replaced, but discolors just as fast as any other clear case
Update 11/12/2018It's been just 3 months since I purchased this case and started using it. I noticed a couple of weeks ago that the case has severely discolored. It's no longer clear, and exactly as others have stated, it is now a pale and unpleasant yellow color. My white Pixel 2XL looks pretty lousy in this case. If you're concerned with looks, this case will not do the job for you as it definitely discolors in a very short period of time. this has been my experience with all clear cases from all brands. It is also worth noting that the case is quite slippery and is also a magnet for small particles that like to cling onto it.Original review:I just received the case and I'm comparing it to a clear Speck case. It's a lot softer and nicer feeling. It's also significantly thinner and does not add anywhere near as much bulk to the device (Pixel 2XL) as the Speck case does. In terms of grip, this Spigen case is definitely more grippy. The side buttons are also much easier to push and require very little force compared to the Speck clear case. The writing that everyone seems to complain about on the side of the case (Designed in Irvine California Made in South Korea) is nowhere near as intrusive as people make it out to be. It's practically invisible when the case is paired with my black and white /Panda/ Pixel 2XL.This case fits a bit tighter and closer around the edges of the screen compared to the Speck clear case and may interfere with some "full screen" display protectors. I currently use a SLEO screen protector that does not interfere, but I just had a full screen protector with black edges that the case was hitting and pulling out of alignment. Just be mindful that a full screen protector may not work with this case, but the case itself definitely protects screen/display edges.I cannot comment on how long it will take for this case to get discolored, but all clear cases are expected to do that. If discoloration is an issue I suggest picking a colored case to start with instead of going for a clear case as in my experience all clear cases show discoloration with time.

It's a Spigen case, but ....
I've been using Spigen cases on my phones since 2014 and it's exactly what you'd expect from them. The case fits well and cutouts are perfectly aligned. Good quality material that feels well in hand and it's not too slippery. It has a slight lip around the screen so the phone is somewhat protected if it falls face down on a flat surface. I've coupled it with a glass screen protector and they go together well. The squeeze function still works without an issue on the phone and there's not much extra bulk added to the phone. I went with the Liquid case because I wanted to show off the Panda design of the phone.I've only had it for 1 day so I don't know how well it will fare in time or how good it will protect from drops and falls. One thing that bothers me and why I took one star off is the fact that there are some edges that are not cut/polished well enough and they feel sharp when holding the phone. It's irregular around the case and they are probably from where the injection mould joined together. The final finish and QC was what made me go with Spigen for so many years, but this one falls a bit short of that expectation. Then again, it's not the most expensive case from them so I can't complain much.

Excellent fit and design.
Very good fit on my Pixel 2XL. No flex of the edges, which protrude about 1mm above the screen to give some protection.Chamfer around the fingerprint sensor is quite large so it's easy to locate by touch. Similarly for the USB-C port.Button action is excellent with the case fitted - no spongeyness.Really well designed and made.Perfectly clear - will see how this lasts compared to cheaper cases on offer which discolour over time.

Perfect fit. Can't find any faults. Great value.
I haven't got the calipers out but, I'd say this adds ~10mm of girth to the phone. Personally, I feel this gives me a better grip, partly due to the material used (silicone). Robust enough to last, not thick enough to feel clunky. The cut outs are precise, no trouble at all with the fingerprint scanner (the edges around this are nicely beveled). They've even been considerate enough to allow extra space around the USB port, so there's no need to peel the cover off to get a cable to connect properly.Being flexible, it doesn't inhibit the squeeze function. The open edge surrounding the screen sits proud by a couple mm rather than flush, meaning you won't risk scratching the screen if laid face down on a flat surface. Thankfully, I've not dropped the phone from any height (yet) but, I think the impact protection looks good. Also, Amazon are selling this for a cheaper price than I found on certain famous auction sites. Bargain.

Slimline and protective
I decided on a simple gel like case for my upgraded Pixel 2 XL rather than the chunky hard shockproof case I had on my Nexus 6. Whilst this might not provide the same level of protection it may certainly protect it from the odd knock and from scratches.Aesthetically it is very nice and does not detract from the beauty of the phone itself, ideed one could argue it augments the overall look.Fairly easy to remove and to replace and fits snugly around the phone. For the price one cannot fault it.

Great cover
I got this for my phone as my old one was looking worn, I gave my phone a good clean when I had it out the case put a new screen protector on it and put the new case on it and I honestly can't believe the difference it makes, the phone looks like a new phone but I think it was more due tot he fact that my old case was so discoloured and old. Great case so far and looks great.
