Good easy reading
Liked all the book and easy reading, didn't work out who was bad until about 3/4 if the way through then had a feeling of who it might be.

Very Good First Book
A window seat, an endless supply of coffee, and a mystery writer, success on a global scale should follow, right? Jen Dawson would be happy if she could just get a chapter of her second novel completed but unfortunately her writer’s block has other ideas. The bookstore with the right ambience is a bright point of her days now she is back in her hometown with one successful book to her name but things are about to get very bad very quickly. When a close friend is killed Jen comes face to face with ex-boyfriend's and old acquaintances as an investigation begins. Unable to leave well alone, after all no self respecting crime writer should miss the chance of hands on experience, Jen finds herself looking closely at what happened but nothing is quite as it seems and before long finds herself in the type of danger her own protagonists can't help her with. This is book one in The Bookstore Mystery Series as well as in author Sue Minix's burgeoning career and I really enjoyed it. The first few chapters were a bit of a struggle but I am so glad I persevered. After the first main twist I was hooked and the rest of the book didn't disappoint although there were some major clues as to whodunnit which may well be more subtle as the writer gets more experienced. The ending was satisfying and with two more books due this year I am looking forward to reading about Jen Dawson and her eclectic group of friends on a regular basis.I was able to read an advanced copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the opinions expressed are my own. This has the potential to become a favourite series and is definitely worth taking a chance on. Recommended.

Really enjoyed this
If like me you miss Kinsey Milhone... As from Sue Graftons pen then you'll enjoy this. The cosy cover design belies the jeopardy within. Towards the end couldn't put it down .

Not for me
This book is not for me but that doesn’t mean someone else won’t love it, I tried to get into it but I just didn’t like the main character so saw no point in carrying on.

Wow! This was great!
I read one of the reviews that said not to bother(in so many words) Glad I ignored that invitation. Ya, I saw a couple of missteps but that was all. The story start out rather funny then slowly builds momentum until the final chapters. And all of a sudden it's A breath taking race to the end. Really, really enjoyed the whole experience. Gonna look for this authors next one!!

A good read.
At first, I thought the opening was not exciting, but as the book progressed, it gained a lot of traction. It never stopped a moment after the death was announced. It turned into a real page turner. I am just finished. It is 2 AM.That should warn you of what is in store.

good first cosy
I liked this fast paced cosy mystery with twists and turns, a bit like a suspens novel. I guess who did it, but I'm looking forward to the next one.
