GREAT functionality for the price
I just got this and so far I am very impressed!I have a 4 cats that I am taking across country in a car including a 3 month old kitten. This carrier is for the kitten. What I love about it:-Suitable for big (NOT huge) cats: ~I have two cats that are 12-14 lbs. They are definitely longer/taller than a majority of house cats but not fat. They were both VERY comfortable with the expansions. Without the expansions it was a little snug but not uncomfortable.~I have one very fat cat. Originally she had a very small frame but she gained a ton of weight after her spay. She is about 18 lbs but not very tall or long. She also fits VERY comfortably expanded and snug but comfortable unexpanded.~Your large cat may not be able to use the the smaller front entrance or the top entrance~If you have a HUGE cat, measure your cat and compare it to the size of the carrier: A cat over 13 inches measuring from the base of the tail to the base of the neck may not be comfortable without the expansions-PERFECT for long distance car rides with a kitten:~Its got plenty of room for my small (5 lb) kitten to move around and even run around a bit when expanded~When expanded it has enough room for a small (10x6.5x3) litter box (it takes up one expanded half)~Many access points makes it easy to provide water, food, and attention without the kitten escaping~Lots of mesh for breathability and visibility-Should work for VERY SMALL dogs or puppies:~The smaller front entrance is about 8 inches tall. If your dog can easily enter then I think it will work. If not then it would depend on your dogs temperament. I think this is designed primarily for cats.-Two strap options (over the shoulder and duffle bad style)-Opens from all sides (when the mesh sides are expanded you have access to a zipper, which is ALSO accessible when not expanded)-The front entrance has TWO sizes of doors, great for larger cats-The interior mat/bottom is fully removable, and folds out with the expansions-The back and side have extra storage pockets-Materials aren't the best, but I think for the price point it's a great dealAll in all I am very pleased and may look into a larger model for my Chihuaha mix!

Seems almost perfect for my large cats
This seems to be a quality cat-sized carrier. I found the amount of zippers it had initially confusing, but now they kinda make sense because the folded up extra fabric is sandwiched in between the soft panel and the outside panel. This is not only better looking, but practical with animals that get bored or excited while in their carrier and like to attack things like netting (totally my cats). I wish there was some way to secure the soft panel to the side again when it is open too. That is my only issue with the carrier. My cats dig and pounce on the rumpled fabric because the possibilities of what could be under the folds is just too enticing apparently!I have been also using this for my rats when I need to clean their cage. The rumpled & loose soft spots again are just too much for them to handle, lol. They tend to chew stuff like that (although they didn't their first use) & try to make a cozy nest from the layers. Again, if this section was somehow secured flat and didn't have the strange spots where it is pushed up from the side from the other zippers, that would make this 5stars for me. Just as a warning to other rodent owners, my rats also chewed at the zipper at the opening where they were put into the carrier the 2nd time I used it with them. They actually chewed through my last small pet carrier specifically meant for rodents, so I don't fault the carrier for this, rather I have determined they cant really spend much time in there at all if I am not specifically watching them (or if they are in a car traveling they seem nervous enough to not behave this way, so I worry less then). If the fuzzy fabric had velcro or some other means of securing it to the floor, this adjustment would make this carrier perfect for me & my multiple animal uses. My cats are larger and this seems roomy for them even with the sides up.

Great for big cats and long trips
I travel with my cat (18lbs, he’s half maine coon and BIG) back and forth to college a few times a year, and I’ve used this carrier for the last two years. It’s a 5.5 hour drive, and this cage has been a life saver. I’m able to open it up in the backseat of my moms mini van and he has a ton of room to spread out. There a strap to put a seatbelt through when it’s a short trip to the vet and I don’t want to open it up, and a little strap inside to hook his harness on so he’s very securely in there when traveling. The mesh is a sturdy plastic so he can’t break them even with clawing at it. The base of it is foam Inside a soft lining, which was not a good design plan. He peed once and i could never get the smell out, and it started molding eventually. I replaced it w a cheap plastic lid from Walmart and put the cover over it and it works fine. The cover is easily washed. The blanket and bowl were useless, he doesn’t like either, but for the price I am incredibly happy with my purchase and I’ve recommended it to a bunch of friends with other large cats.

Great, calming carrier
I love this carrier for my cats and they clearly love it too! I previously had a plastic carrier that invoked anxiety for my cats every time they would hear my take it out of the closet. We had to start boarding one of my cats when we travel because of medical issues and she started getting anxious and peeing in the plastic carrier the second I put her in it. I wanted a carrier that wouldn't cause this anxiety so I thought I would try this. I left it out and open when I first got it and the one immediately went into it. It took the other a few days to get in it...but it worked. When I took her to the vet and boarding a couple times, she didn't pee. It also has several access points so you don't have to drag her out. AND, she still gets in it when we leave it in the room. It's almost like it's an additional cat bed because she sleeps in it most nights. As you can see in the pictures, this carrier has my cats' approvals. The blurry picture is Crackers trying to lie on the top while my other cat was in there (she ran out just before the picture.) This carrier is the best. The only slight negative is when the sides are folded up, they kind of hang into the space where the cat is. I haven't see a way to keep these up.
