I was always losing important paper to which I needed to respond by a certain date. It was a stressor (I must have needed some excitement in my life!). These were important mailings, for example, my emissions certificate, required for my car tag and registration! The form I must return to the tax commissioner, showing the amount I owe! The check and form due IRS! Finally I sought out a "Ticker File”.This file has been a godsend. I leave it sitting out at all times. It is very sturdy and does not topple over! The numbered tabs, 1 — 30, stick up and are laid out at an angle for easy viewing. On the front I have a binder clip holding a brief list of the items coming up, as a quick double-check.I do not put my monthly or quarterly bills in this file, I use a bill organizer. I do not want the file overflowing as that would defeat the purpose: I want the items to stand out. I add a bright sticky note so I can see at a glance and from a distance, from its position / date in the file, that there is something I need to respond to. I use it only for urgent or unusual items I need to respond to, something I am likely to misplace, and it has been the answer for me -- after all these years!

These files are great. Exactly as presented in the Amazon website. They are strong and well made. By using them I could convert a formerly unusable space to a very efficient filing system.

I get these to put my receipts in. I've never been audited, but just in case, I can grab this and make it a lot less stressful than it would be otherwise. This lets me keep in one place everything that needs to be kept in one place. The edges have some reinforcing, but I haven't had any of these split open. It has 12 sections, one for each month, pre-printed.

Love these Smead expanding files. They are sturdy and store away with my tax records easily each year. I'm glad I don't have to deal with the flap which some models have because I put them in my desk drawer and can easily open the top and drop my records into the slots.

I use this file to file all monthly bills, drs receipts, etc. so that at the end of the year they are easily accessible for tax purposes.

I purchase one of these for each calendar year to file information on utility bills, finances, insurance info, etc. Then I file them away and purchase a new one for the upcoming year. They are very sturdy and hold a lot of papers.

I have been using these expanding files for forty years. I can only find them now on Amazon since all of our local stationery stores have closed. Thanks Amazon

I don’t know if this is a normal accordion file thing, I’ve never bought one before, but it falls open unless you sit it just right. No way to hold it shut. Other than that it’s fine

The file is not wide enough to fit a standard A4 sheet, you have a choice between squashing the paper in or folding it in half, completely useless for storing my personal bills and records and will end up in the bin
