Update Nov 2020:I used the first one with my Jeep Patriot for 2 years, until the car got totaled. Upgraded to a 2019 5th gen 4runner, purchased the same size which has gone up in last 2 years. Here’s the addition to the review on the second one:The elastics on the doors feel more durable. Other straps are not elastic, so even sturdier to secure the cover in high wind. The mirror covers came with fluorescent tapes like I suggested in my first review!It fits the 5th gen 4runner, but the sides are a tad shorter than what can cover the windows completely. So I have about half an inch showing on the windows (see pics). It is still possible to open the doors without taking the cover completely off.I would have made a big deal out of the shorter skirt length, but knowing this is the only option out here for half car cover designs, and how great the utility is, I am going use it. It has become indispensable on my car camping trips. I put it on my car at night for privacy and insulation. I wish the seller made a camping version with awning on one side!Old review: Oct 2018: I work as an on site geologist in West Texas. So I am always on the run with my life packed up in the car. I try to keep the car clean and cool, as much as possible in the dusty, harsh desert weather. This cover fits my needs pretty well.Pros: easy to put on, take down even in windy conditions. Folds fairly compact to just throw in the back of the car. Keeps the car more cool than standards reflectors (it covers the whole roof). Keeps some dust off the vehicle, though not all. You can access the doors, even without taking the whole cover down.Cons: The tie strings could be stronger. I might have to replace them soon, considering how much the wind picks up here. The strings are only elastic, doesn't have an adjustable strap to tie them down harder if you need to. I wish it came with a compression sack (the kind of bag a sleeping bag comes with) to pack it more compact.Tips for users: put a fluorescent sticker on one of the mirror bags. That way you know where to start. After putting on the mirror bag on one side, walk to the other side, put on the second mirror bag (this way the cover is secured from wind) and walk towards the back as you fold out the cover over the roof. After putting it on, pull out the wipers and put the front end of the cover under the wipers, to keep them secure in wind.

I live in the mountains in southwest Colorado. The first time I used it there were gusting winds up to 25mph and it stayed right on all night. I bought the size for my 2017 Subaru Outback according to the product guide (185 - 197) It fits perfectly. Takes me about 8-10 minutes to put it on and it fits perfectly. I tie the straps in bows in the wheel spokes and they until easily and I have no problem. I have a brush broom that I use to brush off the snow and it just slides off the top of the car so much easier that without the cover. And, of course, all of the windows are snow and ice free. The cover fully covers the wiper blade well keeping ice and snow out of there. I really like it. I just shake it off and put it inside and let it dry then roll it up ready for the next snow storm. It is lightweight and in my opinion totally amazing in a very user friendly way.

The main reason why I am writing this review is because I myself own a Subaru Crosstrek and had no idea if this would work. Rest assured other Crosstrek brothers and sisters out there this product does indeed fit on the automobile! I love this so much and it really does keep the car cool in the sunlight. Not too sure how it will work during wintertime though.Some reason’s why I am giving it four stars… for starters one of the straps got a little snagged on from a rock or something so it started to fray a little bit but i fixed this issue. Another thing I noticed (which i think is more user error than an actual design flaw…) is that it did start to rip a little bit but the reason why I say it might be user error is because I might’ve tied down the straps a little too tight on one end of the crosstrek. (I will edit this and provide photo’s of Goliath with his new blanket… also Goliath is the name of my car). Another thing that would be nice would be instructions… now it is very self explanatory on how to use this product but for some people they might not know how to tie a knot.

I purchased this half-cover to cover the moonroof on my 2011 Subaru Outback. I live under a lot of trees and the debris clogged the drain holes and caused water to collect in areas of the car resulting in mold damage. The damage was catastrophic. So this cover has been good protection. However, after using this cover for about two years, the straps that weave through the door handles and buckle stretched out. The elastic is spent. I have to wind the straps around the door handle many times until there is adequate tension so ai can buckle them. Additionally, the plastic buckles bang against the car and scratched the paint a bit. I agree with another reviewer: Felt or something similar adhered to the side of the buckle that comes in contact with the side of the car to protect the paint is a good idea. Also, just recently water found its way under the cover; water is accumulating and not keeping the car dry. I suppose wear and tear over two years created a small tear in the fabric. This resulted in water seeping under the cover and freezing to the hood of my car last winter. I did not realize this happened until I lifted the cover off of the car when it ripped a little bit more. Now there is significant mold growing inside of the cover. There is also mold inside of the rearview mirror "pockets" because no matter how securely you apply the cover, the wind will cause rain to soak the "pockets" that cover the mirrors. The company should consider applying some type of substance to the inside of the cover that prevents mold growth. So my cover is trashed. Time for a new one already. Despite these issues, I like the cover and despite being disabled find it fairly easy to put on and take off. Before water permeated the inside of the cover, it worked well and served the purpose for which I purchased it. I would be happy if the company would give me a $break on a new one. I need a size bigger as the size I purchased does not cover the rear window well enough.

I’ve only used it a few times so far it’s a bit tricky at first figuring out how it goes on but once you get the hang of it it’s not too bad. It has built in mirror covers too! Takes a bit to put on but saves from scraping the windows off especially when you are in a hurry.

I like the size of this cover. It covers entire head lights and tail lights. Good thing to protect plastic parts from UV. The elastic on the short edge works well too. 8 hooks came in the separate bag and I can put them on the cords in the length I want. This cover is lined with thin soft layer. Some stitches are rough but I don't think it's a problem. The material is thin which is great for putting it on and removing it off, folds small when it's stored.
