Don’t kid yourself, if nine is fine, so is this basic chain you don’t need a hollow pin whatever, and you don’t want to be messing around with shimano and their refusal to use masterlinks.Sram 9 speed chain, the people’s chain.

Good product- durable
My wife and I have two bikes. Each one is ridden about 6,000 miles/ year. I change the chains on each bike every year. Before I began using these scram chains about 8 years ago I would break a side link about once every year on one of the two bikes. With these chains no breaks after 8 years. During the winter in Florida there is a slight rust stain that develops on the side links due to the humidity and salt air. It's completely cosmetic and does not effect the function at all.Easy to install, would definately recommend.

Sram includes that convenient, removable link that makes for easy maintenance. With a little TLC, these chains hold up for many miles. The link removal tool is an inexpensive and wise investment.
