I usually wet a finger and smooth out new caulk that way. The silicone blades made scraping off the excess caulk nice, but the blade was a little finicky. About a dozen times it would slide off while I was running it along a bead of caulk. It allowed for a much better job than simply using the caulk gun and my finger, but it could be better.The plastic scrapers worked reasonably well on the old caulk I was removing, though I wasn't able to get it all off. I had to use the metal scraper to carefully remove what the plastic scrapers were not able to get off, and was still left with a few spots that stubbornly refused to go. This is probably more of an application issue than a knock against these tools, but I don't have experience with any other tool kit, so I don't know.In the end, it comes down to whether this helped and whether I would use it again. The answer is definitely a 'yes'; I will use this for the remaining caulking jobs I have throughout our new-to-us house. I've only done the inside of of one shower and one tub, and the results look great for a newb. I honestly don't think it would have turned out nearly as nice if I hadn't had this kit. That's what matters.

The tools worked well for the small job on which I worked (about 2 feet of tub-edge to tile wall grout replacement). I just wish there had been more and clearer direction on how they should be used? Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

OK<I have three items, one is obvious, the other two, not so much. Instructions included? NO! Not even a label as to which is what, just a package label in Czech.

nice product. cleaning out the old grout both the thick and thin lines were easier to clean out completely then used a wet paper towel done very fast. the new grout also went in fast and clean straight lines, nice job. I'm new doing handy work myself, I wish all the fixes went so well. Low price also. Thanks.
