Very well written good color plates useful information

I'm a modeler of napoleonic battlefields and this book provides a perfect overview of the involved regiments from Russia, Austria and France and is very recommendable. I've never had a book with a detailed description of the involved regiments, their exact position in the battle and their losses combined with pictures of the uniforms. One point of critics: I would prefer to improve the drawings of these soldiers and their colors. Please publish more of these books for other battles than Marengo and Austerlitz, e.g. Jena and Auerstedt 1806, Eylau 1807, Friedland 1807, Wagram 1809, Borodino 1812, Leipzig 1813 and Waterloo 1815. I would definitely buy them.

The book contains excellent information, remarkable detail, and workmanlike illustrations (the artist has a good eye for proportion and plastic rendering-- my only criticism would be sharper detail-- perhaps some ink/black lines?).Also, it eschews what seems to be the regular format of forcing plates in the center and accompanying information/text almost as an appendix. This makes it far easier to read and view the illustrations.The forward has the standard scene setting and discussion of the battle, and a decent bibliography is also present.I look forward to seeing their future books on Marengo and especially Blenheim, and hope that they eventually delve into slightly more esoteric areas rather than recapitulate on battles/eras already covered.Altogether worth the price. I loved the detail and variety of the watercolour paintings for the different types of soldier at Austerlitz.   There are well over 100 paintings.  The artwork covers all three armies but also includes the support troops and details about weapons and horse furniture.   The information on the uniforms is very detailed with referencing to sources.   Something I haven't found in any other publication.    Above all, I enjoyed reading the articles on each regiment and the eyewitness accounts of the battle - it really brought this great battle to life!  Well done Gerard!
