We have a bunch of these and other inexpensive knives of all sizes. If you know how to sharpen and hone a knife with a stone and a honing steel, and always use a cutting board, you can get and keep these knives razor sharp. Some come out of the package that way, some need a bit of work. This is not unique to inexpensive knives; we've had $200 handmade Japanese knives that needed honing out of the box, and get dull with use when not maintained. That's the way knives are - all of them.These won't hold an edge as well as a high-quality knife, nor are they perfectly balanced, nor will they last forever. But they're comfortable to use and are a great bargain. Hey, they cost under $20 for three knives plus sheaths!No knife stays sharp forever. Even the very best knives need frequent honing, and, much less frequently, sharpening. I've used expensive Japanese knives at friends' houses that might as well have been reserved for use with butter and soft cheese.Don't bother spending a lot of money on expensive knives until you've learned how to hone and sharpen an inexpensive knife. And when you have, you might decide to skip the high-end stuff unless you need to impress your friends.

This is the 3rd and 4th sets I've bought for myself. Not that I needed to replace them, they have stayed sharp and work great. They were just so cheap that I wanted to have extra around for when the time comes :-).

I like that these came with guards. I put them in a drawer and it’s nice to know the blade is covered. They’re also decently sharp. Haven’t had any issues.

Exemplar of the new economy. The blade is perfectly proportioned for daily use. Testing with Skippy Superchunk matched, and maybe improved on, the functionality of our legacy spreader (which none of us have been able to explitive-deleted find for two months now). The tensile strength of the blade is suitable for domestic use and the flex is <5deg. Also, serration is subtly functional and non-intrusive. I have a few other Zyliss product so I am confident in the durability of this implement. I am skeptical of the soft handle material, however, but because of my experience with this manufacture compared to that of that other popular brand which I will not name, I predict this handle will not disintegrate, become hard to clean or feel gooey. The orange color is perfectly cheery.

The knife is very sharp as many reviewers noted. It is so nice to have a decent knife as all of my older ones have gone dull. Be careful.

I bought this knife to take camping, but it cuts so well and is so easy to hold, that it became my best home kitchen knife.

I bought two of these sandwich knives, and, overall, I'm very pleased with them. I liked the rubberized grips and price when I bought them. In use, they are very good...the serrated edge is sharp enough to slice a tomato, but sometimes drags on the edge of condiment jars. The knife is sturdy enough, but the steel is a little thin (ok for a spreader), and one has stained/rusted a bit...I think it was left in the dishwasher after a heated dry too long. I'd recommend them/buy again.

Cutting veggies and fruit. Lasting longer. No need to sharpen.

Great knife. It cuts my bagels better than any other knife and spreads wonderfully.

This is a very good utility knife. It keeps a sharp edge and fits the hand well.

I like the feel of the knife in my hand. The best part is the thinness and sharpness of the blade. We are using it in the kitchen now but I intend to use it for skinning and fleshing animals.
