Chicago P.D. is one of the best cops shows in the last 15 yearsIt has elements from Homicide: Life on the Streets and The Closer/Major Crimeswith the look and feel of The Law and OrderIt's very dark and realistic but, it never once goes over the top to the point of no returnIt's paints the proper picture of cops in a major city trying to protect the people of there city!Cast is strong (one of the best cast in terms of any police drama)Jason Beghe as Hank Voight is what Vic Mackey from the Shield should have beenHank isn't clean by any means but, he does have a deep moral ground he's human not a stereotypical crooked cop!Jon Seda as Detective Antonio Dawson (It's good to see Jon playing a layered character he was good in Homicide: Life on the Streets but, he's grown and is a solid rock star on Chicago P.D.)Elias Koteas as Detective Alvin Olinsky (Elias is freaking awesome in whatever he does he was Casey Jones in the original TMNT film it's cool to see him as this detective that's been through the mill and still tries to be his best!Sophia Bush as Erin Lindsay (A once bad girl that Hank took in and raised as his own daughter Erin is very much Hank's daughter she has his drive and passion to be a good copJesse Lee Soffer as Jay Halstead (I mostly know his previous work in Mob Doctor and Lifetime's Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret tv movie he can act it's good to see him get a big break like this!Patrick John Flueger as Adam Ruzek (most people who were fan's of USA's 4400 will know him)Marina Squerciati as beat-cop Kim Burgess (I can see why she was cast she has those big Bambi eyes you are walking into this series with Kim being your point of view it helps she is a solid actress all around!Laroyce Hawkins as beat-cop Kevin Atwater (Kim's partner)Amy Morton as desk sergeant Trudy Platt (Amy is really a amazing talent she's a hometown Chicago actress that should've broke out more and been more of a house hold name imo) she gets better with every episodeStella Maeve as Nadia Decotis (Erin's drug addict friend who wants to change and be better and she does anyone who watches C.P.D. loves Nadia for all the right reasonsIf you love series like Law and Order, L&O: C.I. , Homicide: Life on the Streets, Major Crimes it's on the same amazing levelDick Wolf has the golden touch and knows how to write series about a profession that really gets no respect mostly due to News outletsGreat Series all around 5 Star Cast, super HQ action scenes, perfect writing there's a reason Chicago P.D. has already been renewed for a fourth season! I bought a couple episodes to see what it was about, now I’m hooked on all 3 chicagos for free on peacock

I wasn't sure how I would like this show; I watch other shows such as BONES and CASTLE faithfully and love them, but this seemeda bit more serious and dark. I have only seen the first 5 episodes (where are the others?) but like what I see. I was born in Illinois andlived in Chicago when I was very young and later after I got out of the military until I moved to NY. But I always had great affectionfor the Windy City and enjoyed my time there. I like the CPD and think dispite certain reputations that they do a great job there.This show seems to capture the grit of crime fighting and the cast is extraordinary in make up. The chief guy was a character onCASTLE and a friend of Beckett until he was murdered. He helped her get closer to Castle which I liked. I get the episodes thatare available on my Video Library at Amazon and the quality is quite good. I hope this series continues on a long time after thisgoofy Olympics is over. I will write more as the series continues but I recommend it to all those who like crime fighting series withguts. I only gave it 4 stars because I have only seen 5 episodes to date but I think it will deserve 5 in the future. Since I first wrote this I watched more of the series and really fell in love with the show. I love the cast, the photography and ofcourse the city. This program is darker than BONES and CASTLE, but is gritty in every way and The Big Town has got to be a tough placeto work as a cop. I will be buying the DVDs when they are out though this is a new series and it will be a while until that happens. SoI will continue to get the episodes on my Video Library to watch again (without commercials!). Unfortunately all these type of shows havemountains of adds but I guess we have to put up with them. I watched one episode of CHICAGO FIRE which is produced by the same folks andhave no opinion on that yet, though it seems promising. enjoy!! I get all my stuff from Amazon.

Once you have seen the first series, you will be hooked for more. Fantastic, gripping entertainment.
