Works perfect, long time customer, having image backup is computer engineering rule No. 1
This SW comes with disk and license key. It is the one time license, not the subscription with cloud services. I think it would be wise for Acronis to continue to offer both stand-alone and network based versions of this software to keep both customer bases satisfied. This software installed perfectly and within 15 minutes, I had a complete image backup of all partitions on my solid state system drive. It successfully created a bootable rescue DVD. My new Dell XPS is a high end machine running Windows 10 Pro. Image backup was to external USB hard drive.Be sure to check all of the backup settings. I found that by default certain files were being excluded, among them the pagefile.sys Not sure why, perhaps Windows 10 would recreate the page file if the backup had to be restored. It is also important to define the type of backup, base or incremental, backup schedule, etc.On initial SW install, it informed me that an update was available. I chose not to install the update for fear it would be the subscription based version. Now that I have a backup I can roll back to, I will download, install, and try the new version. I am also now confident to install software applications and let Windows update. A backup is computer engineering rule 1! This is a true image backup, not a file copy.

So far, so good...
I purchased Acronis to replace the backup software that was part of a security suite. My backups had been failing if any selected file was in-use at backup time. I've set Acronis to back up automagically every weekend to a USB drive. I've chosen a complete backup followed by three partials. That way the sequence repeats approximately monthly. I've only had it for a couple of months, but it's been working perfectly. I haven't had to do a restore (and hope I never have to), but I've gone through the paces to see what's involved, and it appears to be very straight-forward. I could do it.I'm not sure why this product is sold as a CD rather than download. The software isn't on the CD -- when you fire up the CD, it routes you to the Acronis download site. The CD jacket has the "activation key" printed on it. It seems it'd be simpler to email the activation key plus download link and bypass the CD entirely. You'd receive the product immediately, and you'd be able to cut/paste the activation key, avoiding the inevitable fat-finger typos.

Getting the license on Amazon was the best option I could find (ie
I needed a copy of this to do a full system backup (by partition) of a new PC after installing and configuring the OS (in order to use as an emergency rollback or restore point). Getting the license on Amazon was the best option I could find (ie: least expensive option). Acronis wanted twice as much to buy directly from them. While you can use this from within windows, I would highly recomment installing True Image on a USB drive, booting from the drive, and backing up/restoring that way, especially if you want to backup/restore a boot partition. The only thing I don’t like is that if you have virtual memory enabled on any of your drives, True Image will also back up that area on the partition.I was using an SSD with virtual memory on (system managed) and it created a 10GB pagefile on the drives partition that True Image tried to back up. This was basically was basically wasting 10GB of space on the USB stick I was saving my backup to.I wanted to backup the drives partition, but not the pagefile. I got around this by disabling virtual memory on the SSD, restarting the PC, then formating the SSD in order to erase the pagefile prior to backing it up. Then you can do your backup, save a few GB of space, and then just turn virtual memory back on after you complete the backup.True image has the option of compressing your backup files, but I recommend chosing “no compression” in order to maintain the fidelity of your backup data. I’ve used compressed backups in the past and had issues. Better to be safe than sorry.I also recommend validating your backups upon creation. It only takes a few minutes to do, and it gives you a bit more assurance.

A d event backup solution
Easy to use with an okay interface. I just wish someone would come up with a backup solution that would allow me to setup multiple backup scenarios. I'd like to back up my laptop to my MyCloud drive daily and then have the My book back up to the cloud at user set intervals.

Good cloning software
I use it to clone old hard drives on to SSD drives. I have never been disappointed by it. It clones larger hard drives on to smaller SSD's flawlessly.
