Solves the Problem
The wheels of my son's chair cut into the carpet. THE NEW CARPET. I figured after he moved out I'd re-carpet his room. But whos kidding who...he'll be with me for another decade at least! So after one wheel broke and was tearing up the padding (ugh), I bought these and now he can't roll around and has to be stationary, but it stopped making the carpet worse. I should have bought these a long time ago. They were a little difficult to install, but with a pair of pillars and a hammer, I got it in. Next chair I buy, I'm buying these and replacing the wheels. Because it's just not worth the re-carpeting expense. This is a much cheaper and better option.

Perfect replacement to kitchen chair casters
Perfect fit. Good price. 5 in package so these work with 4 or 5- footed chairs. Easy install. Instead of buying their custom tool I used my mini crowbar and it made the job easier when the feet were glued in by gunk. I used these to replace the casters in my father-in-law's 1980s era upholstered wooden kitchen chairs the post fit perfectly and it was an easy install except for one that made me glad I had my mini crowbar (like $2 at the local hardware store). So I'm now a hero. But he now thinks I'll fix everything for him. So it's a double-edged sword. These are exactly the same height as the double wheel casters that were on the chairs. Wish I could get them 2" longer but maybe that wouldn't be stable. These slide on ceramic floor tile, but not as fast as caters. I'll add felt if he needs more sliding but until then I'll wait to see what the wear rate is so I know if/when I have to replace them. I would buy from these sellers again, no problem. Exactly as described, got here fast with Prime. Great product and exactly what I was looking for.

Perfect, works as they should
Did exactly what I needed it to, and that was to stop my chair from rolling because of a slight slant my house apparently had.I bought these because my Office/VR room (Oculus Rift, Vive, and Gaming PC) was turned into a baby room for our soon to be baby girl. My fitness room was demoted into an Office and my fitness gear (rarely used haha) was thrown up on Craigslist. Sadly the new office was too small to handle VR so it was all work and no play in there. So VR had the arduous task of moving a PC from the office to the basement living room. Anyway in the office there was a slight slant in the floor and I would roll constantly. To the point I didn't use the chair anymore. I used a kitchen chair with a pillow. Needless to say it was uncomfortable. I by chance found these when looking for locking wheels and thought I'd try them instead.Perfect. Works exactly like I wanted them to. Gaming chair is back in the office and all is well in my life.

Why did I wait so long?
Why did I wait so long? I'm a fat guy. 300 lbs. So I bought a chair for fat people. It is pretty good, except the included wheels crushed immediately. So I ordered some industrial strength casters from McMaster Carr, which lasted about a year before the ball bearings were released and spread all over the room. So after them I ordered two sets of some "heavy duty" roller blade based wheels off of Amazon. Both sets lasted under 6 months each. Both types of caster spread ball bearings all over the room. They hurt to step on and make a heck of a racket when you vacuum them up. Before I bought the industrial strength casters, I noticed these bell glides on Staples' website. I should have bought them then, but I wasn't sure about their weight tolerance. I've had the bell glides for a little over month, and they're better than wheels.

get a slightly larger diameter stem than what you measure
I have the herman miller celle chair. These work as a replacement glide for it. However, the master caster website does not give accurate information on how to select the correct size glide, which is why I'm dinging a star. The guide can be found here: mastermfgco.com/Caster_Stem_Selection.pdf.When I measured, the stock caster wheel stems that came with my celle chair - they were exactly 3/8". So I originally bought the 70176 K stems based on the guide. But when the K Stems arrived, they were slightly too small. When measured, the K stems are were slightly smaller than the described 3/8" diameter. These 70175 B stem diameter measure exactly 3/8" when it's supposed to be 7/16" diameter. The length of both stems are accurate at 7/8" .

Works great on carpet, able to slide on carpet
Bought theses glides to replace the wheels on an office chair. The old wheels were hard to pull off; had to use an open needle nose plier to place in the gap above the top of the wheel to pry the old wheels off.Once installed, the glide’s base has too small of a surface area and has no upward lip at its edge to glide on the carpet smoothly. I added a flat round slider for moving furniture between the glide and the carpet. The glide and slider combination works as a unit and allows me to slide the chair even while sitting. Just what I needed!

Easy Installation and Great Results!
I purchased these when I lived in an apartment in which the floors were slightly unlevel. With the wheels on a normal desk chair, I would end up rolling backwards away from my desk, which was very annoying. I popped of the wheels, popped these on (~3-5mins) and just like that I had a semi-stationary chair. I then stuck on some Waxman self-Stick felt pads to the bottom to prevent my chair from scratching the floor. These grip hardwood floors just enough to remain stationary but still allow you to slide around with a light push. Im sure these would also be great on carpets if you are trying to avoid the wheels from damaging them. Very simple install, and just what I needed.

Doesn't fit Ikea chair...wasn't meant to
There is nothing wrong with this item. It seems sturdy and attractive. I have searched in vein to find a reasonably priced bell glide replacement for the casters on an Ikea chair we bought. Ikea uses a 10mm stem of course. 10mm should be about 3/8" and 11mm should be about 7/16". I have purchased both and the smaller is a tiny bit too small, and the bigger is a tiny bit too big. The seller accepted return from me but I decided to keep them and try to make them work so cancelled it before shipping it. If 3/8" is what you're looking for, buy with confidence. If anybody out there has a solution for Ikea, please let me know.
