Off to a good start, hope it lasts
So I set off to put together a legit gaming PC for less than $400..seems impossible in this day and age, but that was my budget, take it or leave it. Started w a barebones e-site build some dude threw together for me. The AMD CPU was fine at around 3.6ghz and had 8 g ram on the decent board. No graphics, so had to drop a bit on an RX 580, and it requires 500w. No way I was going to hit my budget target already, so was going to have to cut corners on the PSU. Knew this was risky but heck, not many options at that point. The guy had already built in a Logisys 350 in there, so figured I'd give them a shot. Didn't read the fine print that the 550w wasn't meant to "sustain" at that wattage. 400w was it's optimum running power. Well carp.. Also, even though it did come with a cool set of 2x2 that we're 'linkabke' to create an 8 pin for pci-e and the RX 580, I needed one of those 4 pins for the board (waa waaaaaaa). So had to get an adapter for 2 of the Sata power cables to feed an 8pin for the card. That worked out great, but still worried it wouldn't be enough for the card. And it wasn't. HOWEVER, I was able to use the Radeon software to dumb down the card to run at 50% speed AND 50% power draw. As well as slowing down the CPU by tweaking power consumption. It now can run impressive performance on most modern games with at least high settings. Going to start pushing the limits of the card and see if I can get some ultra settings going on some titles, wish me luck!

Old one blew and I needed a new one.
I needed a new power supply as my other one blew. This one had a higher wattage rating than the one that died on me. So, it's the same make, but it was slightly better and the price was right. It's easy to install. The only thing you have to know is that if you have 4-pin on the motherboard, this one comes with what looks like an 8-pin. It's actually two 4-pins that are stuck together, but they slide apart, nicely. It was clean, and worked on first boot. As far as noise, well, it's really not that quiet, so if you're someone who's has a DAW system at home/studio, it's going to show up on your mic. You'd need to isolate your PC somewhere. But, I do all my DAW on my Mac, so I just shut this PC off.

Doesn't reach most AtX 8 pin 12v on most MBx WO and adapters or soldering
Works great dilivered the power needed but was a hassle to get in and most the cables where pathetically short and the 8 pin 12 v tight roped across the RAM and PCIE slots , i ended up soldering an extra 7 inchs of wire to the 8 pin te get it to reach . My guess is this power supply is a Manu. left over from a micro tower . check your case size

Good, but not perfect
This is great for the price and is very powerful for what i need. Im very pleased with this product and the shipping was great.Pro:-Very High Power-Nice size-2 fansCons:-Louder than my 300 watt PSU-The SATA or p7 connectors are too close together to connect to both my hard drive and disc drive, so since i dont use my disc drive mush i just pluged in my hard drive. Im about to order a extender for it soon.Overall this is awesome except for the SATA thing.

Very low noise, sound and radio - Power Supply
I purchased one of these about three years ago and the large fan failed just a week ago in a computer I never turn off. I had a spare supply so I put it in. I'm a ham radio operator so electronic noise is something I can't tolerate. The replacement supply generated noise all over the spectrum. I had another spare supply and it also had terrible noise. I ordered a replacement PS550 and put it in my computer, noise gone!! I'm very pleased with the 550 for this reason. I repaired my old 550 by taking the fan out of one of my noisy spare power supplies, now I have a quiet spare. The sound noise is also low considering there are two fans running.

Did the Job perfectly
Had an old desktop sitting in the corner needing a new power supply unit. This product caught my attention as the price was to my liking making the resurrection of the old desktop a workable option. The dual fan feature allowed me to remove an unnecessary fan that was in my mini tower. the cooling was adequate with a little more space in the case. The system runs quietly with the new LOGISYS unit.

It didn't have enough connections.
It didn't have enough connections., but other than that it's ok for a starter computer.
