This is a great spiral flute tap. Ive used it in my mini lathe for Aluminum and some mild steel.Remember to use plenty of lube and go slow.

Cuts so much better than the straight flute type. After breaking two 6-32 straight types, finished up all the holes without incident with this one.

Whike their chip extraction design would work on larger diameter taps, it failed on this tap because they didn't use the proper steel to compensate for their decreased minimum diameter as compared to normal taps. Hence, the bit is too weak and is only good for soft metals. When we first opened the box and looked at it all bets were that it would break. And with the slightest pressure sure enough it snapped. I'm a mechanical engineer with 30 years experience.

I bought this to mostly be used for tapping for adjustable air bleed and emulsion holes in Holley carburetors. It makes extremely nice threads and is effortless tapping in blind holes. The tap is made in Korea and seems just as good as some of my osg and emuge taps for hand tap operation.
