PropperMen's M65 Field Coat Jacket

Great knockabout coat
I love this coat . The camo pattern doesn’t show dirt & stains as much as a solid color. Its size runs true to USGI specs. These make great knockabout coats for camping, fishing, hunting & pretty much any outdoor activity. As a stand alone it’s warm enough to wear in 30-40 degree weather & it’s plenty big enough to layer underneath. The metal snaps & plastic YKK zipper are very sturdy. The coat has a button in liner & if needed you could button in an additional liner for added warmth.People have commented about the Velcro tab placement on the cuff.Yes the tabs could have been sewn for a tighter fit, but for me they are just fine. I adjusted them to the smallest size & my large hands have no problem sliding the coat on or off when adjusted as mentioned. The button flap pockets are sized very generous for dog snacks, water bottle, flashlight, spare magazines, gloves , Ect ..

Looks great, really warm
I got this for my husband to wear when he shows his vintage WWII jeep. He always complains about being too cold in his open jeep. He is 6'3" and around 245 pounds. The XL fit him with plenty of room to spare. We talked about a smaller size, but the roomy chest needed for sweaters and driving might not be there in the "L" size. Length is great, and the zip-in lining is heavy and warm, but the sleeves need to be shortened. Concerned the velcro sleeves (to tighten at the wrist) might be difficult to shorten, but I will leave that to the seamstress.

A nice light to medium jacket...It is not an M61 however :-)
The Propper M65 is comfortable and easy to take care of. Without the liner it is a good light jacket for temperatures in the mid 30's and up. With the liner it has kept me warm into the 20's. Of course it will depend on what you wear under the jacket. The M65 is great for layering. Very good wind resistance and beads rain. I don't know how long the water resistance will last. After an hour or two of steady rain it might get a bit soggy. If you wear it for duck hunting,or live on the Olympic Peninsula, you may want to hit it with a water resistant spray. Some reviews have complained about the fabric. Unlike the M61 it is soft and seems light weight, but the M61 was basically canvas. I am satisfied with the quality and feel of the fabric.used in the Propper M65.My one complaint is the lousy fit at the cuffs; too loose, not enough room for adjustment. You can take care of that by adding a 3 or 4 inch extension to the Velcro on the cuff (The loop part). This is why I gave it four stars. If you have worn and like the gov't. issue M61 or M65 field jacket, you will probably not be disappointed.with this one.

Nice jacket for the price! Good Propper quality!
This is actually my 2nd Propper M65. I bought my first one about 12 years ago at the local Army Surplus. I suspect the store owner would get his shipment in and split the jacket and liner so that he could sell them separately since the one from there did not come with liner. Anyway, after 12 years I guess I kinda 'outgrew' my old jacket and hadn't been able to wear it for the last 3 or 4 years....just a big snug. So I went up a size this time and it fits great. If you don't want a really baggy jacket, buy one size smaller than you would a 'civilian' jacket, as these are designed to fit over bulky layers of clothing.I've had an M65 in my closet ever since I was in the Army, and I can't imagine not having one. Propper makes a very good version, though maybe not quite as tough as the ones I was issued in the military. I also chose to go with the black. (my other Propper was also black.)I did have to roll up the sleeves one cuff, they were a little long. I'll probably have to have some alteration made on the sleeves. I don't think it will effect the liner much though since the buttons are above where I would have the cuff hemmed. Should work out just fine. Not the jackets fault....I'm short and wide. lol. When I was in the army these coats were so versatile. Without liner, light and easy to move in. Would keep out a light rain if need be. In Winter with the liner, warm and comfortable. Mine was used as coat, Pillow at night when we were in the field, sometimes blanket if I didn't have my poncho and woobie with me. It was a key piece of Kit that you didn't go anywhere without!BTW, I still have the old Propper M65. It's a little faded but still in great condition. Probably going to give it to a friend of mine, who like most of us, ls living on a tight budget.

It is a heavyweight coat
I had one a few years back. And I liked it. Needed it to keep me warm when working outside

Well made
Seems to have quality craftsmanship and materials. Does run a bit large but I like room to move, and leaves plenty of room for layering if needed. Nice and warm with the button in liner. I scored by buying "not in original packaging" for $44 that was undoubtedly brand new. Arrived a day early. (Sah...weet!). Would buy again.

Not Bad, Not Good
Purchasing this I knew it was a Chinese knockoff of the M65 Field Jacket. The Jacket seems to be well made, had some weight to it, and fit ok except for the sleeves. The sleeves are huge both in length and we're very wide. The velcro at the cuff is too short to close the wrist opening. In fact it is to short to do anything. Fix the sleeves and extend the velcro and this would be a good jacket. As it is now, the jacket isn't functional.

Excelente!!
Me quedó a la perfección y la calidad me parece acorde con el precio. Muy cómoda y se ve muy bien. Si vale la pena por lo que cuesta!

Good jacket
Everything is great with the jacket and liner...hood is rather basic... but that is how a m65 jacket is....stands up to cold weather with appropriate clothing underneath can definitely go down to -25 and lower...Sizing is accurate... construction very good...washes well

Sizing
Product seems great, the sizes are big. At 6’3” and 230lbs the xl long was big, I should have ordered a large long. The length was great just the body of the coat was big!

Fantastic
Note there are competitor brands but trust me…. True sizing and excellent quality,at par if not better than alpha industries, helikon Tex etc… trust me close your eyes and order while they last… if u not. Planning on layering then size down 1 size else stick to sizing chart

Muy parecidas a las de la ARMY
Solo una observación los puños de las mangas quedan muy flojas.
