Works great!
Definitely recommend this! Even though it came with a mini-CD install disk that I couldn't use, all I needed was to download Audacity and change a couple settings so it would record from this device. Super simple. And it held up well during the 20+ tapes of my old college radio shows I needed to digitize. Great value for the money too!

You get what you pay for.
Pros: It’s small and easy to use. Cost effective.Cons: It will pick up cell phone noise. Not good build quality (you get what you pay for). It will pick up handling noise, so hands off when recording. It’s an inexpensive alternative, but don’t expect to read in hundreds of tapes. It is persnickety about interference. Once I realized that, the quality was pretty good for reading in tapes over 20 years old.

Works great for transferring old cassettes to MP3
I already had Audible on my computer, so it was extremely easy to simply connect this player to a USB port and start transferring old cassettes to MP3 files. Easy to monitor the process by plugging earbuds into the headphone jack.

No help! (Customer Service)
I like that I finally found a way to get my 35 year old singing lessons onto my laptop, but I have many more to transfer, and it has stopped working, i.e. playing tapes. The motor makes noise and the spools are going around, but the tapes don't move. They are stuck. Even though it wasn't much money, I hate to buy another one.

Don't buy
Received item as expected, but when attempted to use, found a few problems. To operate/play device, I had to hold play button down for it to operate/play. Volume in provided headphones/unit where barely audible. Tried other headphones same results, so problem is with the unit. It did auto-reverse as advertised during minimal attempts at operating unit. Don't waste your money.

Only one disappointment--but it is a major problem.
I love this product--but I've already had to purchase two of them--because both of them proved defective after about 20 insertions. (Hope I didn't misread the instructions! I thought these items were Plug N Play compatible) But over time, the driver stops loading. But while it is working, this product is awesome. And the Audacity Suite is fantastic. I've been able to recover half of my cassette collection. I'll probably buy one or two more of these items to cover the other half unless they get around to fixing the issue. Still at under $25, this is a very good product.

It works
The EZ Cap works with a mac which I was concerned about (thanks to the addition of mac software on the disc). Not hard to set up either. I was worried that it would eat my old tapes (some of which date to the 70s) but it didn't.
