Suture practice
Haven't actually practiced with this yet but it arrived quickly, exactly as described. Seems like it will be really good to practice my suture skills on. I like that they give a link to youtube videos for suturing.Update: After practicing on this suture pad, I have removed a few stars because the underlying material tears too easily for you to do deep sutures. You can practice vertical mattress sutures on the “incisions” that are wide, but there is a lot of tension so I am nervous about even the superficial material tearing, but so far it seems to be holding up. I would still recommend this product because it has been helpful with figuring out basic sutures.

Does not replicate normal tissue. Cannot tie any suture whether deep or superficial without ripping through material. Cannot oppose incisions without tearing material. Do not buy this if you are serious about surgery in any way it will not help you.

Product worked well and good quality. Exactly what my wife was looking for to help practice suture techniques with a good variety of different stitch sizes. With this she can practice new sutures any time I want and in different types of lacerations. The material is dense but still pretty lightweight and soft while not ripping. I was also really drawn to the fact that this suture pad came attached to a base which made it easier to practice. Definitely one of the better investments I've made and I'm sure she will be using this product for years to come.

DO NOT BUY THIS! ITs TERRIBLE!
This is one of the worst suture pads I have ever used. There is too much tension on the cut outs that doesn’t allow for good closures. The material that it is made of tears with any tiny bit of pressure when securing a knot. I was practicing with a 5-0 Polysorb that I had lying around and couldn’t even do a buried knot without the material ripping to shreds. You can even pull chunks of the material out with you hand with no pressure needed.

This pad is surprisingly good quality. I always hesitated on buying one of these, as I thought they would not be even close to the real thing! After purchasing their sutures, and seeing how great of customer service they had, I decided to take a chance on them. Obviously this won't be exactly like real tissue. If you want that, you need to go to the butcher shop. For practicing the technique though, these are great.

Do not buy! Rips.
It's okay, I expected better for the price. The material is okay and mine was slightly damaged in the corners when I received it.UPDATE: -2 stars! Been practicing a lot more since my first rotation is tomorrow and I have General Surgery first! The material on this is TERRIBLE. It keeps ripping as you pull the suture. Not worth it! My classmates got different brands and their's are different and are much better. Try something else.

Excellent kit to practice new suturing skills
Excellent kit to practice new suturing skills! The variety of wound patterns allows you to focus on many different suturing techniques. Material doesn’t tear easily but I would still recommend buying supplemental silk sutures. Great customer service to top it off!
