Excellent Replacement of the old brass ones, PS aluminum install tool NFG!
Refinished this customer's pool deck as the badly worn exposed aggregate concrete was hurting the kids (and adults)bare feet. Owner wanted to change the oxidized brass ones that served well for the past years to stainless. These fit perfect although we had to epoxy in a few that had fit loose as the concrete had worn and the old ones were so loose we removed a few by just lifting out with our fingers. The customer wanted no new holes. (To be expected)They work perfect and should provide years of service with no further corrosion or discoloration.Fair warning!!! The aluminum install tool does not last long at all. We killed in within the first 10 pcs installed. Ido not recommend purchasing. We had to install 32 pcs. We found it much better to purchase a grade 8 9/16 3-inch long bolt and thread it all the way to the bottom then hammer them in using the bolt. It's still perfectly good after the remaining 22pcs were installed

Nice anchors
Bought 65 of these. Had 2 bad ones out of the batch which I didn't think was too bad. They just had threads that didn't want to line up smoothly. Replaced the inserts and all was well. Luckily I ordered a few extra. I'd recommend them. They look a lot nicer than the old brass ones that turned green and brown. I expect them to last longer since they are stainless. Sprayed them all down with liquid graphite when installing so they wouldn't have issues come the end of the season. I really like the decorative collar that comes with them also. I decided to pay more for the stainless in hopes that I don't have to do this again for several years. The brass ones seem to wear out pretty quickly and get stuck either up or down. The brass also seem to strip out easily. In my experience, stainless doesn't strip out near as easily.

Much better than the brass - worth the cost
Very sturdy - easy to install. I had to replace several existing brass anchors that had stripped the head or the threads. These fit the universal size of these pool anchors so I did not have to change all of the anchors. The collar adds protection to the anchor hole and really looks good. The pictures show how the old brass anchors wore down and the before and after with the new anchors.

Watch for two types of knurled ring at top of anchor. You want the fine one.
Be careful, as Amazon Canada may have old stock which is a different steel plate. (Poolzilla was excellent customer service and very quickly replaced mine for the newer version plate.) Newest are shiny nickel stainless steel. ALSO, there are two types of knurl in the top ring, a wide knurled and a finer striated knurled to catch the edge of the concrete hole. The finer one goes in nicely, the wider knurled version is actually slightly wider, harder to tamp in and causes enough pressure to spall/chip pavers. If you can find the shiny newer ones with the very fine knurled ring at the top, these went in perfectly without needing to ease the tops of each drilled hole.Aesthetically these work well with lighter stone pavers. Time will tell if they rust.
