Perfect summer read!
I saved The Holiday Escape to read when I had a break from work and what a wonderful treat it was whisking me away to Kittiwake Cove and the gorgeous Hollyhock Cottage. I loved the characters and heartwarming community and the parrot Kasuku had me laughing out loud. A fabulous read, perfect for relaxing with.

Summer in Dorset
When Ally’s mum suddenly dies, Ally tries to take her place, looking after Dad and helping to run the weekend craft retreats held at their property, in KIttiwake Cove. But Ally feels stifled so twice a year she takes on a new persona and lives the life of a carefree trendy city girl. When she meets Logan on one of these trips there is an instant connection but she reluctantly leaves him behind. There is si much happening in this book; deception; friendships; dreams; family and of course love. It took me a while to settle into this book, I think it was because I did not like city girl Ally, but as the real Ally emerged the story really began. This is a lovely summer read and it has inspired me to visit Dorset and also look up some craft venues near me.

Brilliant holiday read
I always buy one of Heidi's Christmas books to get me in the festive mood and then a Summer one for my Summer holidays. I've just finished reading this one and loved it. Not only do Heidi's books hook you in, her attention to detail regarding things such as craft sessions, cooking, gardening etc are so appealing. I'd love to live in Heidi world, I'd thoroughly recommend this book as a lovely holiday read.

Lovely story
I loved this story, which is typical Heidi Swain. A lovely tale of life & loves & family relationships in a small community setting, this time in Kittiwake Cove in Dorsey. It’s been a great summer holiday read.

Not my favourite
Had read a couple of others by this author and enjoyed them but didn't like this one so much. I couldn't really 'engage' with Ally from the beginning somehow. While sort of understanding her need to 'escape' from time to time, I found her pretending to be somebody different, even using a different name, very odd. I was going to give up but plodded on till the end most of which I felt was easily predictable. Yet again the use of 'I' instead of 'me' is irritating and makes me wonder what an editor's job entails or if anybody actually proof reads the text before printing.

Another fantastic read from Heidi Swain
I’m a huge fan of Heidi’s books and this one is every bit as good as the rest. It’s a standalone title set in Dorset in a beautiful cove, and you get a real sense of place. The main characters are really well crafted and the story had me involved from the start. I have read it super quickly as I really wanted to see how the story unfolded. I recommend it for readers who enjoy the books of Heidi, Jo Thomas and Jill Mansell.
