HELLO: Easy to install and configure and provides sharp HD video communications
The product was easy to install and has an intuitive interface. I was able to unbox it and set it up on a large screen TV in about 15 minutes. The video quality was excellent -- 720p HD. After the first use, it was clear that the unit works better if it is mounted below the TV rather than above the TV as suggested. This ensure that you actually see the faces of the individuals in the conference rather than the top of their heads. Unfortunately, they don't give you any hardware to install the device at the bottom of the TV. I found a decent camera mount on Amazon for around $8 that allows you to easily mount the Hello device to the wall (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000IDCDZY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). The only caution is that the people you conference in via Skype or GoToMeeting may hear an echo if the TV speakers are also at the bottom of the TV. While the Hello device has a built-in echo-cancelling microphone, it relies on the TV speakers to broadcast sound.Another piece of equipment that may help you use the product is to purchase a wireless mouse and keyboard. The HELLO device has two USB ports, one of which is taken up by the remote control. Consider using the other for a wireless USB mouse and keyboard to make signing to the various apps much easier. The traditional Android method of entering information using the on-screen keyboard is cumbersome. One positive note is their technical support is excellent. The get right back to you when you report an issue and stay on the line until the issue is resolved.

Wanted to love it, don't buy unless you are willing to learn a new app.
I wanted to love this device. Clever marketing and strategically omitted info compelled me to buy this device. Problem is, their 4K video conferencing ONLY works within their proprietary HELLO app. I purchased this device with the understanding that I would be able to log into services (such as Zoom, Facebook messenger and GoToMeeting) and have a seemlessly video conversation... Sadly that's not the case. Audio is severely delayed for all 3rd party apps except the HELLO app...I tried to work with support. Their chat person was exceptionally nice and cooperative, but there were strange expectations that I would be providing beta testing and troubleshooting for them for a device immediately out of the box. I followed instructions to completely reset the device twice, but that did NOT solve the audio delays. I entertained and worked with the chat rep exclusively because they were so very nice and enthusiastic, but when they asked if I had a "USB smart link transfer cable" laying around so they could "flash" their device with a different firmware I knew it wasn't going to work for me.For a company that expects their customers to have specialty cables laying around the help them troubleshoot and beta test their hardware is just a little beyond reasonable. I've been working as a tech consultant for 15 years and I WANTED this to work, but too many hoops needed to be passed through for a debut device.I asked the chat rep to have their development team contact me via phone, to overnight me this "no big deal" cable and I would be more than happy to be part of their inside circle consumer beta program, but sadly I never received a call.Again, I really wanted this to work, but the company needs to set expectations. To advertise a product as functional for 3rd party apps, but then be told during troubleshooting to "just use the proprietary HELLO app" instead of the service that our company uses (Zoom) makes me loose confidence in this brand. If a rep wants to reach out to me, I'd be happy to unpack this experience with them...even help them out. We'll see if I get a response.

Hello is an awesome device for video conferencing
Hello is an awesome device for video conferencing. Excellent video/audio quality and ease-of-use. Tremendous flexibility in choice of conferencing apps. An excellent product in today's market for Skype users with TVs no longer having Skype integrated into their selection of apps.Customer service is outstanding. You can communicate with Solaborate support through their app real time and get questions/issues resolved quickly. They even shipped me a new power supply at no cost after my cat chewed through the cord.

Setup is pretty easy, and the remote control has a mouse ...
This product took us by surprise. We didn't expect this level of finish, from a product this new. We use it for conference calls at the office and the video quality is simply mind blowing. Setup is pretty easy, and the remote control has a mouse mode that lets you interact with the various apps. The first time we powered this on it immediately updated itself to the latest version of the software over Wifi. The update process worked flawlessly. I would buy this product again without a doubt.

Great Hardware and Support but failed through bad software.
I really wanted to like this Camera but for my needs it was a complete failure.I only had it in my possession for 2 hours. In those 2 hours it updated itself and the update forced it into the Android Bootloader and support asked me to reset to factory settings. That was a record - factory reset in less than an hour! Then the Android version was version 5 and the current one is 8. I am not bothered about the latest version but the security updates were March 2016! They advertise this as corporate conference camera but no corporation i have ever worked in will accept this. The Skype Version was the android version which was 1 or maybe 2 versions behind the current one. I signed in with the same microsoft account as on my phone and it said my most recent call was a call i made 5 (!!!) years ago when i had only used it for a video call the day before. The hardware itself was great but if you are looking to balance it on top of the TV especially one of the latest OLED LG Thin TVs then you are out of luck.So all in all great hardware, great support but a shame about poor software.Maybe this will be OK for a small business but for personal use and big corporations...not so much.Delivery took 5 days, had it for two hours, their return label took a week to get back to them and now they want another 2-3 days to authorize the refund. They had my $300 for two weeks now so really not very happy.
