Drew Struzan is a Modern Master & One of the Greatest Illustrators of All-Time!I love this book in every way and treated it with care.It's a heavy book, however, and the spine completely detached with the binding intact.I've never had this happen before. Some white plastic in the spine splintered apart. 5 Stars for Content. 3 stars for Book Construction~~

I can't say enough good things about this book. I love Struzan's work and I find the hours disappearing as I page through it. Great paper quality. It features prominently on my shelf of art references.

Recently I pre-screened a documentary called "Drew: The Man Behind the Posters." (available on DVD through Amazon). It is about Drew Struzan and it prompted me to order this book from Amazon. My hope is that the documentary will be included as a selection for the 2013 Seattle International Film Festival so many more fans will understand the story behind this brilliant talent. Through it, we get to know this wonderful man and understand how he became the originator of the iconic art you see in this terrific book. I expect an increased demand for "Drew Struzan: Oeuvre" as time goes by. I love this book, it has a lot of really nice posters from movies and TV shows. So you have a full collection in your hands without the space to hang them.

Mot amazing art by a most amazing artist! The one in a million of our era.

Most pictures are very faint and don't show the sharpness that acryclic and pencil provide. The paintings are about detail, and you really have to focus on some of the images to see it.The rating is for the artwork, not the prints.Good book to own if you like quality art.

This book was a fantastic journey through the career of a Top-Tier 20th Century North American Commercial Artist. Drew Struzan's personal notes and reflections of what went into making particular pieces, and sometimes the preliminary sketches, really help the reader get a sense of what it took to create these amazing pieces of art. It's too bad Leonardo da Vinci or Michelangelo had the ability to do something like this in their time. I am very grateful that Drew was able to make this book in his lifetime and allow history to catalog his creations and work methods in so much depth.This book is must buy for any fan of 20th Century Movie Poster art, or, any student/lover of Commercial Art.

Well I am sure darn glad I got this before they stop/delayed shipping it. The only thing I saw as odd was the fact that the actual book was not shrink wrapped. That's it. Not enough to complain.Anyway...this book shows the impeccable talent of Drew. I have seen most of these images in his Art of Drew Struzan book but there were many I have not seen. I really thought this was a reprint of the original Oeuvre book that is going for over $200 but it's not It shows new projects. For example the piece he did for the 2012 Summer release of Cowboys and Aliens.Regardless, it's all Drew Struzan and it's all wonderful!!

Es una lástima que no esté en español, pero lo importante son las láminas con toda la obra del artista Drew Struzan.Una obra muy completa y bastante actualizada. Es una joya de libro. A cualquiera que le guste el cine, le va a encantar.

Resulta muy inspirador y muy buena referencia la compilación del arte de Drew Struzan que presenta esta publicación. Todo ilustrador o diseñador gráfico debería de adquirir esta gran pieza.

Un libro stampato da Dio, di grande formato e con immagini di qualità elevatissima. Il migliori libro su Drew che mi sia mai capitato tra le mani.

Having purchased The Art Of Drew Struzan last summer, and being a little disappointed that much of it was filled up with sketches and alternate takes, I'd actually been looking forward to seeing his full range for a while. When I got an assignment to paint a movie poster of my own, I knew the time had come to find real inspiration in his whole oeuvre... or at least, that was justification enough for me to plunk down some dough and buy this second book.Absolutely gorgeous. There were a lot of his paintings in there that I didn't know were his, and the print quality is amazing. The only potential drawback, as another reviewer has noted, is that the binding isn't perfect. My first copy broke apart after a few hours, but Amazon shipped me a second one the next day. I guess it was a bad batch of glue or something... hopefully second time's a charm.But, yeah. Book. Exceedingly inspirational, and so many visual lessons to learn in here. A movie poster isn't a literal translation of the film. It's not a still with a logo slapped on it. It's not just floating heads. It's something else... an encapsulation of the movie itself through a select choice of images and a style that complements it. I can't wait to use the book as inspiration for my next wave of artworks.
