Maiden Voyage - Bruce Dickinson's Story
A great read. I have been an Iron Maiden fan for almost 35 years now, and though I was aware of Bruce's previous vocal work with Samson, for some reason, I missed all of his solo work (probably due to the 90's grunge and nu metal I was into at that time). This book follows his career chronologically, and goes into some detail on each of the Samson, Iron Maiden, solo, and Iron Maiden (again) albums, so you get a peek into the behind-the-scenes making of all of his albums. This prompted me to purchase all of his solo albums, which are very impressive. It also goes into his reasons for why he left Maiden to strike out on his own, which is even more impressive considering how well he and Maiden had it made and were on top of the Metal world. Bruce's life story is interesting, inspirational, and funny at times. He's a driven man who is interested in many things at once, never satisfied with his latest achievements, and not one to rest on his laurels. Singing, songwriting, fronting bands, fencing, piloting jet airliners, beating throat cancer, there's nothing the man can't accomplish once he sets his mind to it. I was even more impressed with his talent, work ethic, and drive after reading this book. If you're a fan, you won't be disappointed by this book.

Five stars.
It's much better than Dickinson's autobiography.

Long live Bruce
Bruce is something else. If any of us could do half as much as him we might be considered successful. Thanks for all of your tales - you are truly a wonder be behold Bruce. Keep it up.

A glimpse of the master
A good book. Lots of information about Bruce Dickinson--his start in the music scene, to his rise, all for his other projects, and of course about his time with Maiden. A very good book if you are a fan of Bruce or of Maiden.

Great Read
As an Iron Maiden/ Bruce Dickinson fan this was a great look into who and what Bruce Dickinson is. This coming from a reader who has never been interested in reading biographies before.

good interesting book, easy read, no critisicm of Bruce though.
Really interesting book, especially during the Samson era.Later on the book becomes a "love in" for Bruce as the writer clearly is a fan so not much criticism.

So good to read about Bruce Dickinson from the beginning
This is a really informative and interesting biography right from the beginning with his earliest bands and giving such a complete history of Bruce Dickinson's rises and falls in a bid to achieve what he wants to do. It takes you through each stage of his life in such fascinating detail.

Like for most of my stuff
Like for most of my stuff, I use Prime membership, so item arrived as stated - next day.In nice cardboard envelope, so no harm has come to it. Tnx.Now... on to reading.Good book. Not a literature classic, but easy simple read.If you are into Maidens, and just have a enormous respect for Bruce as a individual with so many sides.... you have to read this. Will definitely give you some "deeper" insight into his life and a career.Just wish they mentioned date of reissuing his solo LPs...

Little disappointed
Book was described as in good condition and I expected it to be well read but several of the pages were damaged, folded forward as if to save a page and the book looked very shabby, only reason I am giving 2 stars is because of the price
