Great value
Trolling motor is great for my sit on top kayak. I installed it right next to where ai sit. I don't even have to use the high speed. The low speed is fast enough.

Works great other than the handle
The media could not be loaded. It’s easy to install and uses very little energy. I ran a 35 amp hour battery up and down the lake for about 7 to 8 miles and still had plenty of juice left. The only CON: is the handle, it’s very cheap thin and it snapped on me. When I turned it on high standing still. Other than that the trolling motor is awesome…

Nice but you are going to ?
After mounting and testing this kit on my kayaks I found that the brackets are not able to hold the thrust that the trolley motor provides so therefore it keeps sliding in the base holder! Useless bracket base holders..You are going to have to modify the swivel base with maybe rubber in between the clamps or screws to keep the base from moving and keep it in is place to keep the thrust from moving the base. Poor design cannot get it tight enough with the self tightening nuts provided.

Great motor, poor mount.
I bought this to use on my kayak for my birthday. My first impression was how easy it was to mount on my Lifetime Stealth 11' kayak, very little modification of the yak to mount it. When I tightened the motor to the mount, I used pliers to get it real tight, because of what I read from the reviews. I started out on low and everything was great, speedometer on phone showed I going 2 mph. I then went to high and the motor kicked up and almost out of the water, so I shut it down and tried to tighten it some more. That helped very little and now the rest of the mount went sideways. Considering how tight I had everything tightened this is completely unacceptable. I am giving the motor 5 stars and the mount 1 star since I was at least able to attach it to my kayak. Great idea but very poor engineering. I will drill holes in it and add screws to make it and laugh at the trained monkeys who designed it. Have a nice day.

The kayak bracket is not thta good.
The light weight makes this a perfect choice for a kayak, however the universal kayak mount is its weakest link. The nuts are too small for captured hex heads on the bracket and tend to spin when tightened enough to do the job. The motor fits very sloppy in the mount and difficult to put on and take off. I feel that the mount wont last long with prolonged installation and removal from the mount. I would opt for the transom mount in the future because this mount is junk. The other issue is putting in the up position while paddling is a poor design. There is nothing to hold the motor from spinning around under the weight of the handle and it interferes with using a paddle.

Excellent trolling motor
I attached this motor to my 16.5' canoe (85 lbs). This small motor provides ample thrust to propel the canoe quickly through a lake. It is very light and easy to assemble and store. The drawback is that the torque snapped the long steering lever so we have to use the small concealed handle within the motor.I would recommend to the manufacturer to use a metal pole for the steering handle. The company was very responsive when I contacted them. Excellent value.

Don’t listen to the bad reviews this thing is awesome!!!
I read a few bad reviews that almost steered me away from buying this motor. However, after easily installing it in about 20 minutes and after it’s first test run on the water today, I’m confident the people who wrote bad reviews can’t put things together properly. This motor is awesome! I mounted it on my old cobra fish and dive and it gets me cruising around 2mph on low speed and 3.75-4mph on high speed. The motor is very quiet also. I paired it with a mighty max 12v 35 amp battery and it worked flawlessly .I’M NEVER PADDLING AGAIN!

Just tested it on the creek
Just got back from trying it out on the creek and i will give you the pros and cons of using this on a kayak. The T18 asp watersnake motor was the perfect size for my one seater plastic canoe/kayak. Speedy on high setting and nice cruise on low setting. I was also able to tow another person against the current on their kayak on the high setting. No downsides to the motor itself. The mount however was not strong enough to stay in position on the high setting as it uses two little plastic knobs that are difficult to fully tighten.Steering was possible using the pop-out stick on the control head with left hand and using right hand to brace the motor from swiveling forwards. This is easily solved with string holding the top section forwards or the bottom section rearwards, cumbersome though and risk of tangle. Less easily solved by drilling the swivel shaft and mount to accept a removable pin to hold it in the down position. Overall It is well worth the price and can be improved if you are handy with a drill or know how to tie a knot.
