Houseplants and Hot Sauce: A Seek-and-Find Book for Grown-Ups

Fun, modern twist on search and find books. Reminds me of "I Spy" but with drawings instead of photographs. Objects to find include things like, magazine, necklace, can of beer, etc.Just a disclaimer: I originally purchased this as a secret santa gift for a male friend. I didn't know that the drawings are of only women and the objects to search are tailored to women as well. It's still a great book, but perhaps for a narrower audience than I thought when I ordered it. I'll instead be giving it to a different friend of mine!

I purchased this book for an artsy coworker of mine. She's very much into drawing illustrations as well as appreciating a good graphic novel here and there. I had a feeling she would love this book because of the quirky design but also the seek-and-find elements were a cute touch. Before I gave it to her, I did look through a few pages and liked how much was crammed into each page. Once you're done doing the seek-and-find items, you can still graze through the pages and see if you can find any other fun details that you may have missed before. Don't judge the book by its thinness, though! Perfect for that coffee table in your Brooklyn loft, or on your IKEA shelf next to your succulents.

While this seek-and-find isn't much of a challenge, it is beautifully illustrated and worthy of a spot on any coffee table.In the book, we follow Jane as she mentally recaps her weekend adventures. We start at Jane's home (her kitchen may as well be a picture of my kitchen) and we feel connected to the life Jane is living. As I said, the seek-and-find aspect of the books is not too challenging, you can easily finish all of these in one sitting, but the art is fun and feminist. I chuckled at some of the shared experiences illustrated in the book, and was easily entertained by just looking at the art and the story on each page.Overall, if you are looking for a fun coffee table book that you can casually enjoy from time to time, this is it. If you are looking for a genuinely challenging seek-and-find, this may not be the book for you.

My wife loved to receive this book. She used to love Ispy books as a kid. Honestly though, the I spy books are more challenging. We breezed through this one. We still love having it as a coffee table book.

I already loved Sally Nixon's art and really enjoyed paging through this book. I know I'll look at it many more times in the future!

If you are looking for a seek and find book that gives you a bit of a challenge, this is not it. I finished the 1st 3 in about 5 minutes. And I really don't appreciate the vulgar political message half hidden in one of the puzzles. Totally uncalled for.

Fun coffee table book for adults. This was a great Christmas present for the women in my life who generally read a magazine while their partner watches tv. It’s artistic and well drawn as well as entertaining

Very cute. Bought it for a friend. We both flipped through it. I loved the artwork, and her favorite part was that the people depicted were not all skinny.

Purchased this as a gift for a friend and she loved it. The illustrations are lovely.

I love this book. The drawings are vibrant and colourful. Most pages are full of women of all shapes and colours, sporting all kinds of styles. Its not Where's Waldo challenging but still fun to look at and great for guests.
