The Innovation Expedition: A Visual Toolkit to Start Innovation Paperback – October 1, 2013

I read dozens of business books each year and this was a genuine surprise. It's a quick and fun read with case studies based on interesting stories that anyone can identify with. Don't go through it too quickly, however, because each case study presents a series of unique ideas that you can translate directly to your research, business, or whatever the task may be. It challenges you to change the way you (and your team) think. It's been very helpful in my work. At the very least it's a great book with incredible (true) stories. Highly recommend!

Inspirational and full of facts. Perfect to use as a starting point for discussion with potential clients.

This book is a great visual representation of an innovation journey. It has all the big and small moments that you have to go through with your team.

The author takes too long to make his point and uses early expedition analogies, which are mostly abstract achievements, in comparison with modern boardroom challenges. The examples of how-to go about innovation are cluttered with a textbook approach, set mostly in a listed company $ billion environment, which I believe is way beyond the small enterprise entrepreneur who would be looking to find ideas in this book.

This book is beautiful and is very insightful. One of the best books i have purchased in recent years. A must buy.

It has allowed me to explain and illustrate the power and nature of innovation which permeates more than just big business.The guide includes tips, tricks, tools and activities to support innovation as well as relatable case studies and stories. It strips away common misconceptions around innovation, such as the lone genius and eureka-moments, focusing instead on the long path and winding ways to success which innovation actually entails. It also provides a useful yet oft touted process-based approach to innovation- removing the cloud of mystery and "specialness" which innovation is commonly associated with.A fantastic way of introducing anyone to innovation- and impressing them with how accessible it is.

The first time I saw this book and looked into it I loved it, and knew this was a book in the category "MUST HAVE" .... and I wash't disappointed - it probably the best example of ROI a man or organization can get.It is written an illustrated on a level which I have never seen, and since I got it has helped me in several project.As an expedition leader on my own journey I am now pleased to have a map to guide me....Thanks GijsBest regards and very thankful.Hans-Christian

Easy to consult and a different way of looking at innovation. Some of it is inspiring.Does bring some good points. Also, entertaining so can be a fun vacation book for those who believe creativity should be fun and not tediously academic.I like the parallels to real history cases that make the contents more tangible, more vivid.Also, the point form lists that are clear, to the point.Obviously not a book for academics but I will strongly recommend it to my students who are internet natives and used to clear, visually stimulating contents.
