This thing is so cool. I never used one before. Great for a beginner
The media could not be loaded. So easy to fly, right out of the box (after charging). This will be my first review after trying it once. I am so impressed! I can wait to get it outside the really learn how to get the most out of it. But for a newbie drone pilot, It's great. My wife said "What will you use it for?" After 15 minutes of ideas, she said, "OK, enough."Come back soon to read my full review and see my pictures. So, finally nice enough to try outside. Still easy to fly, but two tips.1. On your first flights, don't fly higher than your extension ladder if you have any tree branches within 100 ft. After recovery I stayed below 20 ft.2. Don't rotate it on your first flights. The forward, backward, left right controls operate relative to the craft, so they reverse relative to the earth as you rotate. (That's why I "landed" in the tree.)Next time out, I will add the camera into my adventure. If you have any curiosity about drones, buy this. Performance for price ratio is insane! FUN TOY. but it doesn't feel like a toy. Good quality.

Impressive drone!
I've been a drone enthusiast for the past 10 years and I am amazed at how much the technology has changed! The Simrex X900 is right up there with the same drones I have spent over $350+ in terms of the size, features, and flight controls. It's intuitive and easy to fly, not to mention the stunning photos with the wide angle of 110 degrees. In my early testing, the battery life is good for around 11-15 minutes. The box has everything you need to get up and running immediately with no huge learning curve even for beginners. Overall, the functionality and features make it a great value. Thanks!

Nice little drone, great form factor, camera and video. Beginners note: only 15+/- minutes of flight
I had a smaller drone that would not hold well in the wind, this one has more weight and power, which is good, though I would still recommend little to no wind for best performance.Easy to use remote, I chose to use the iOS apps which leads me to a special note: Do NOT use the app anywhere near a “known Wi-Fi network”! You connect the drone to the app by Wi-Fi, not Bluetooth. This gives you longer range (maybe 300 feet / 1000 meters), but if you lose the connection for any reason, your phone will likely grab your “known network” and not reconnect to the drone. Imagine my surprise as I lost connection and was pushing commands with no response!? It was a simple issue that I didn’t anticipate, and the drone just hovered in the wind waiting for a command that never came (eventually snagged in a tree). My recommendation is to use this outside the area of a “remembered” wifi connection, or to “forget” that connection while controlling the drone. While flying the X900, the camera image appeared on my phone screen (controls are superimposed on top of the image), but unfortunately I did not record anything because again, I lost the connection before finding the record button! Sorry. All this said, after the tree snag, the drone eventually came down and seems to have survived quite well. A 100 foot fall broke one of the foldable legs, and popped the battery out of its compartment, but the body, arms and blades seem undamaged. Finally there’s the battery life. Flight time is only 15+ minutes, which is average for a beginner drone. But the fact that it has a “return” and “follow” mode means it should not just drop out of the sky when drained… though I can’t say for sure about that, but I was able to see it still had power when stuck in the branches… the lights winking at me as I waited for the wind to pick up and bring it back down to earth.

Best beginner drone, hands down
This is a sleek quadcopter with foldable arms. Once folded, you can slip the unit into a big jacket pocket with dimensions of just 130mm x 90mm x 45mm. Go ahead and travel with this without worries. The package comes with a controller, a phone holder, a charging cable, a battery, 4 spare propellers, 4 propeller guards, and a product manual. Everything is neatly packed in a box that could be given as a gift. It’s a shame that there is no carrying case so you would have to get one separately. It holds up well to crashes, with the spares providing extra confidence.Camera will give you great images. It has a wide angle of 110 degrees to pack more in a single frame. The footage can be streamed to a paired phone via Wi-Fi. Just download the free app to get it going. This drone uses a lithium ion battery rated at 3.7V with a capacity of 1,200 mAh. This is quite large for this class, thus allowing the unit to fly for up to 15 minutes at a time. Most cheap drones can barely make it past 10 minutes so this is a great extended life. The Simrex X900 Drone can be controlled using a 2.4GHz radio frequency wireless remote control. Just like others, it has two thumb sticks for directional control. There are buttons for power, headless mode, altitude hold, one key take off, and more. You could also use the phone to control it if the drone is within the Wi-Fi range. There are three speed modes.A major complaint about beginner drones is that they are hard to control. Thus the frequent crashes and endless frustrations that make people quit altogether. The Simrex X900 makes the experience smooth and stress-free by incorporating technologies that make flight easier. There is a one key take off and landing feature so novices can fly right out of the box. There is a second camera that looks at the bottom to provide optical flow positioning to have a better lock on the height and position of the drone. It can hover steady in the air while you take a shot of your subjects. If you want to do aerial acrobatics, then try the 360-degree flips and rolls. You can do it in any direction to avoid obstacles, add cool shots, or just impress your friends. Since this has a short range, the one-key return is a crucial feature that lets you call it back when it goes too far. Headless mode makes flying a breeze since you don’t have to keep track of the drone’s orientation. It will move in relation to your point of view. The blinking lights make it more visible from afar, though these could be brighter.

Flips
I bought it for flying around the house but I advise not to do flips in a small house

Cheap don’t buy
I’ve had the SIMREX x90 and was super happy to try this one - worked for 2.5 min and then dead - the gears stripped while in the air and it fell from the sky into almost 4 pieces - what a waste
