Excellent Rising
SAF Instant Yeast is a fantastic product that offers great value for its price. This yeast has excellent rising capability, allowing you to achieve perfectly fluffy and light breads and baked goods every time. One of the best features of this yeast is that you do not need to hydrate it in liquid first – you can simply mix it directly with your dry ingredients. This makes the baking process much more convenient and efficient. Overall, SAF Instant Yeast is a reliable and easy-to-use option for all your baking needs.

Amazing yeast!
We use this to make our homemade sourdough bread. The rising time is so quick and it has never disappointed tuning out a great loaf (or baguette). The 1 pound bag lasts a long time and it's fresh. Recommend!

Works great
This yeast never fails when I make bread in my breadmaker. I have used this brand for several years, and I always get a perfect dough rise using this product.I keep a few tablespoons of the yeast in a tightly covered container in my refrigerator. I keep the remainder of the yeast, in its original bag, in my freezer so that it stays fresh and I don't have to worry about it expiring. Every few weeks I have to refill the container in my refrigerator.I highly recommend this yeast. It works great and I hope it does not become unavailable any time during my lifetime.

A two year supply for the cost of two - three packs at the supermarket
It's bread yeast and it works. Maybe there are folks who can taste the difference between this and similar brands, but that seems to be beyond me.For the last 5-10 years I've been buying a package of yeast like this and dumping it into a clean / dry mason jar. I put keep it in the garage fridge and I've always got yeast on hand if I decide to bake bread. In my case, it is more than I use in two years, and that's about what the effective life is before it starts dropping off in it's ability to activate and rise.I've used this batch for dinner rolls, french bread, focaccia, pizza dough, pretzels, and bagels. It worked well for all of them.

good purchase
The SAF Instant Yeast Red arrived quickly and was fresh. I cut the freshness date from the yeast packaging and store it along with the yeast in an airtight container in the freezer. I've not ordered yeast from Amazon before. I was pleased with the purchase.

Better bread basics
Still proofing your yeast in warm water and a pinch of sugar and waiting for it to become active? With SAF Red Instant Yeast, you simply add it to the dry ingredients and go!I am not a professional baker, simply a guy who bakes bread - lots of bread: rye, whole wheat, sourdough, burger buns, rolls. You get the idea. I used to use those 3-packs of yeast, like many people, but after my first pound of SAF red, I was hooked! Not just because I don't have to coddle it into action, but I use far less yeast in all of my breads (typically 6 grams for two loaves). It works consistently; a pound lasts me over a year; it keeps seemingly forever in the freezer; an additional 1-lb package means I'll have yeast until mid-2016!Wait...grams? Did I say GRAMS?! Why, yes. Yes I did, and here's why: How much flour is in a cup? It depends on how you fill it. Do you spoon flour in and level off the top with a knife? That's about 120 grams. Do you dip the cup into the flour and level it off? That's about 140 grams, almost 3/4 oz more! This inaccuracy leads to different breads on different days using the same recipe. To avoid this, I weigh my flour, and all of the other ingredients, according to the Baker's Percentage (visit[.....] for more details). I have a scale that shows both Imperial and Metric values. I use Metric because the simple arithmetic required in the Baker's Percentage is much easier with whole numbers (grams) than 10.35 oz.But I digress. I rely on SAF Red Yeast, and it will forever be a partner in my bread baking. Do yourself a favor and use it, and the Baker's Percentage, and you will astound your friends and family with your incredible, warm, aromatic loaves. Like me, you will rarely buy baked goods ever again.
