Pilot Namiki Vanishing Point Nib/Neck/Converter Set, 18k Gold Rhodium, 1.1 mm

This is an awesome upgrade. If you haven’t tried a stub nib…you should! Very smooth writer.

This is my first stub nib, and I wasn't sure what to expect. I was delighted to discover that it writes beautifully: slightly scratchy, yes, but I like the tactile effect. It produces a crisp line with precise contours. I'm very happy so far!

I have had the Vanishing Point for about three years and I stopped using it as the broad nib was just too much for me. I began to use the Lamy Safari with the 1.1mm nib. Perfect! So after about a year of use I decided to buy this 1.0 mm nib. Now, this is my everyday take along pen. Quick to use just like a ball point pen - but with the flair of a sub nib. It greatly impoves my handwriting!

Nib fits early Pilot vanishing point pens well. However, the nib is scratchy and ink flow is very low. I can likely do some work on it to smooth and align the nib and adjust the ink flow. Also, the assembly should include the hood for refill use with the nib.

I switched out the fine nib my Decimo came with fir this stub. It writes beautifully and has become part of my EDC. Highly recommended.
