As an older woman, I decided to lay some bricks over my ugly concrete front porch, and I knew that mixing the mortar was going to be difficult since it's heavy, and takes some muscle to mix properly. This device helped me a lot, and the only reason I needed to have a second person helping, was to periodically mix the mortar to keep it from setting up too soon while I focused on applying it to the brick joints. I kept a 5 gallon bucket filled with clean water next to the mortar bucket so that once we were finished with the mortar, all I had to do was put the mixer blades into the bucket with the clean water, turn it on, and run it until most of the mortar was washed off the blades. I'd also suggest adding a couple of drops of dish soap to the water for an even more effective clean. I did wipe down the blades afterwards to get them 100% clean before storing the unit away.

I have not used it yet, only because when I was preparing the forms and digging out the trench, I injured my back and cannot do anything until that heels up. In physical therapy now, in a few months maybe I can give this tool an honest review.

Arrived broken but still worked for mixing 70 bags of concrete.

Mixing my first 50gal bucket of thinset it was on speed 1 smelled like it was gonna catch fire and it smoked. On my second bucket I used speed 3 worked better but still smoked. On the rest bucket I used speed 4 seems to be the sweet spot but control the depth of your mix. In total I mixed 11 50gal bucket of thinset. And several 25gal bucket of grout. Did not break or need resistor changed so I give it 4 should have a mixing guide for the speed settings but it worked without major issues for price it's a good buy.

I will buy again

Was using it to mix small amounts of cement in 5 gallon buckets and both the speed adjustment and power button stopped working. Had to unplug it to turn it off and speed stayed the same no matter what I did. Mixed good besides that but no speed adjustment and having to unplug to turn off isn't safe.
