16" (400mm) Plastic Frame Manual Impulse Bag Sealer

This inexpensive sealer can only be used a the lowest of settings.This thing burned through elements first every few days, then after that every few seals. After a great deal of frustration, lost productivity and several calls to the supplier they told me it could only be used at settings of 4 or under. The problem with that is that at those low temps it doesn't seal effectively. Their Support person recommended the metal model and I had the exact same experience. What is the point of having higher settings if they will damage the machine and pop the elements?Both units came from the same supplier and the supplier refused to cover return shipping, which even when boxing them together was almost the same as the purchase price. One of the most frustrating overall purchase experiences I've had through Amazon. These could be good and easily portable units if they had been made a bit more robust.

I love this thing. Sometimes my cookies are larger than normal and won't fit in Pat Catan bags they sell. This machine has solved my problems. Plus I like making cookieand cake pops in planters. With thismachine I can make my own size giftbag. Love it! I purchased the longplastic roll from PatCatans.

Works great for sealing Ziploc bags for sous vide. The adjustment changes the time the heat element stays on for different bag materials. Great for wet marinaded food and long cook times where the failure of the Ziploc seal or valve is a possibility. I can seal the bag multiple times to ensure no leakage.

First of all I broke many of the metal filaments when I first started using it before I learned that you must use a lower setting - now it is not breaking filaments. I wish the company would have put this important detail somewhere as a warning.

I have bought 4 of these and none of them with the exception of the 2 6" units have worked for more than 3 months. The company was nice enough to replace one of the units that only worked for 2 days. The replacement sparks and works when it wants to.
