The Knight of Malta

My mom was born in Malta which is the only reason I decided to stop there on my European vacation lastyear. I was fascinated to learn of how this tiny island country has so dramatically impacted the course of history. This is an excellent accounting of one of the most important events in the islands history, and the history of western civilization. Historical facts told in a narrative novel style make it a great read. It should be picked up as a major motion picture!

Interesting book, but I thought I would get an overall picture of the total history of the Knights. It was instructional and I did enjoy reading.

I live in Malta and really appreciate the book you sent to me. It was very informative on the history and struggles of that little chain of islands.

Title maybe a little misleading and some parts come over as a romantic adventure,never the less, it is great read just to appreciate the literacy of the author in his writing.

I am sure the writer means well, but I found This book so hard to get into, could not get past page 30 if I am honest, I am writing this review without the book in front of me so some of the comments maybe a bit strange, and thus I need forgiveness if the comments are miss construed. However, having said this I do like books to be entertaining whatever period they are written in, or indeed whatever period the style is written in, this book is or gives the impression it was written a couple of hundred years ago (maybe it was) and it does not gel at all with me.I think it potentially is a good subject but the style just doesn’t suite me.

good item well worth the cost

Good story and I enjoyed most of it but I think, for me, There was far to many pages taken up with very detailed descriptions of, Landscape, Dress,Emotions and even Thoughts, to such a degree that I nearly put it down after the first 15% of the read. I guess it must be difficult getting the balance correct to paint a good mental picture for the reader but for me the"over detail"detracted from what could have been a very good read.
