My new go to for everything!
I have been in search of a pair of IEMs ever since I left my Shure SE215s in my trousers and then proceeded to put them in washer. This was 3 months ago. The Shures were my go to earphones for anything outside the house, whether it was gym, flights, or just a walk in the park. For my home use, I prefer headphones and in the past few years, I’ve owned, bought and sold several including Sennheiser HD650, Grado SR325, AKG K702, Focal Listen wireless and Sennheiser Momentum to name a few. Shure, simply because of its easiness to carry and noise isolation, was my go to travel set. I didn’t expect the Shures to perform as well as the Sennheiser or the other over ear models, but it was surprisingly good and met my requirements. So when it finally got damaged after 7 years of use in every possible scenario, I started looking for something that would be at least as good as those. I had a set of criteria that these earphones needed to meet.Budget of $100-200. I simply didn’t expect IEMs to be as good as full sized headphones (for price), so wasn’t sure if I should be spending over $200 on them.Portable. No funny connectors, easy to carry and easy to drive using cell phones, laptops, tablets etc.Good fit and isolation. I am going to be using these in gym so they better not pop out and on flights so they need to isolate external noise well.Obviously, with a bit of research, my concerns were mitigated and I was only looking at earphones that met these criteria. So why did I pick Fiio F9 pro?I have used Fiio products before, and one of my first portable amps was a Fiio. I know that they make good products at very competitive price. I actually didn’t know that they made IEMs, but once I found out, I knew that it was going to be some of the best in that price range.Second, the reviews here on amazon, and elsewhere were quite positive. Third, by spending $40 more on these than the Shure SE215, I was hoping that these would be somewhat of an upgrade (which in terms of specs it is - triple driver, metal body etc.). So how is it?I can tell you that I am very very proud of myself for deciding to go with these :) (I know I know..). What I mean is, it was absolutely the right decision! It’s been 3 days since I’ve had them and I could not be any more happier. In terms of build quality, they are very well made, but you expect that when you pay more than $100 for a pair of earphones/headphones. The isolation is on point, similar to the Shures. That was one of the reasons that I chose to go with this shape. They provide really good isolation and stay in ear really well.Soundwise, they are better than the Shure SE215s in every way, top to bottom. There is more detail, the sound is cleaner, the bass is deeper and tighter and treble is well pronounced. I honestly wasn’t expecting these to be this good. This outperforms majority of the headphones I have used.**You have to remember that you are entering a territory of diminishing returns once you spend over $100 for earphones. Even the Shures that cost 5 times as much as 215s are probably 10% better performance wise.**Let us look at the sound a bit in-depth.Detail: Amazing. I wouldn’t say I’m hearing anything new but the sound is so balanced top to bottom. The very soft intros and outros that you would just ignore can be heard clearly. I’ve been listening to Game of Thrones soundtrack (highly recommended), and I’m paying attention to every little detail. Up there with the best I’ve heard. 9/10Bass: Absolutely kills it. Probably the most balanced and deep bass I’ve heard in any headphone or IEM. I guess having a dedicated driver makes a big difference. The bass is tight, super responsive and goes deep. It is not overpowering at any time and really adjusts very well with volume (best I’ve seen). Sometimes, the problem I’d have with my Shure SE215s was that bass could becoming fatiguing at low volumes. I’d be listening late at night or in a quiet place like library and had to turn it really down for bass to not become overpowering. None of that here. The F9 pro really adjusts very well with volume and the bass is always there in the same proportion I feel. It’s tighter and deeper than Shure’s bass, and there’s absolutely no bloating. That’s what makes it not overpowering in my opinion. 10/10Mids: I find it very satisfying. It’s not forward like Grados, probably a bit less brilliant compared to the awesome bass and treble these IEMs have. But it’s not bad by any means. It does the job perfectly well, perhaps doesn’t excel as much as the bass or treble do. 8/10Treble: Amazing again. Bass is my favorite feature on these but treble is a close second. I think it will only get better as the earphones burn in. Nonetheless, it leaves nothing to be desired to my ears. It’s there, plenty of it, but doesn’t get sibilant. 9/10Overall, I think this is now my favorite pair. The sennheiser HD650s, especially when paired with tube amp, are warmer but lack bass compared to the Fiio. The grados have great mids, but are too trebly. When you compare the overall convenience of having a portable pair that can do anything and can be powered using mobile devices, it's just an unbeatable combination.I absolutely recommend this to anybody looking into IEMs. You will not be disappointed.

It is impossible to find a defect. They are perfect and with many accessories.
These are my first in-ear headphones of this type and high-end.Content of the box: 5/5The presentation is amazing, a very aesthetic black box.It brings a multitude of pads, from silicone, silicone with a rigid body to foam with memory, that each one generates a minimum change in the sound and of course in comfort. It also includes a second balanced 2.5 mm cable, very good quality. The same with the 3.5 mm cable very good quality and the remote control works perfectly on android and even in W10 with Foobar2000 that was something that surprised me.And finally bring 2 cases, a boy cloth very well finished for the headphones with his cable. And another larger one that is approved for water for the cable and possibly also another cable or some pads.Construction: 5/5The capsules are made of very polished metal and it is smooth soft, until the union of the 2 parts of each capsule is well finished. The cables are also not sticky, the 3.5 mm and 2.5 mm cable tie is very good, the rest of the cable is well finished. This does not bother at all because you can exchange the cable for which you want. They are the first in-ear I use that go around the ear, it's really comfortable, I do not need to use big size pads because with the simple cable that goes around the ear it does not come off.A detail to take into account is that their cables have to wrap them and that is subject. I had not seen that on any other cable. Then they will never get tangled up.Sound: 6/5I loved the sound, it's just what I was looking for, retailer and neutral. It has no particular frequency, it is neutral neutral, all frequencies are on par.It is heard 100 times better than my Audio Technica ATH-M40X, which sometimes generated fatigue with its flat sound. With the Fiio F9 Pro for nothing, I do not feel any fatigue. The sound is also perfect to play, use them connected to the joystick of the ps4 and it listens excellently, it perfectly persists from where you are attacked if it is left or right and even that it is attacking you, the sound is very different. For music too, I was using them with my notebook, with the DAC HIDIZS SONATA HD CABLE 2 in W10 and in Android with MusicHiby, with music in FLAC and mp3 format. It is a pleasure to hear Aerosmith in particular my favorite song, I don't want to miss a thing, it sounds amazing. Also AC / DC, Robbie Williams, Marron 5, Latin music, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and much more.Final conclusion:They are perfect for its value $ 140, it may seem a bit expensive but if you are looking for something that lasts a long time, have many accessories, have a neutral neutral sound, these are the indicated ones.I do not want to imagine how the Fiio FH5, which cost twice as much, should be heard.

Are words enough?
I'm a bit of headphone buff, and my music tastes span the spectrum of music. My preference is in buying equipment that has a wonderful tone without any EQ being applied. As a result, I've assembled a pretty decent range of equipment over the years including a variety of headphone amplifiers, DACs, headphones, and IEMs.With respect to headphones, I own Sennheiser HD650, AKG K701, HiFiMan HE-400i, and Grado SR60i - all open-backed and very balanced sounding. For IEMs I own Shure SE215, Sure SE425, Westone UM-1, and now the FiiO F9 PROs.Of the headphones, the HE400-i and HD650's offer the best, most robust sound across the full spectrum. They're pleasing to experience and make me want to listen more and more to a wide variety of music. Until I purchased the F9 PRO IEMs, I NEVER could say the same about the IEMs I owned. To me, they were "fine" and served a purpose, but the Balanced Armature design was either unsatisfying in the lows or fell off too soon in the highs. They were great in the vocal range, but music is more than just that. With a hybrid design that includes a dynamic driver for the lows, the F9 PROs are wonderfully balanced across the full spectrum with no crazy peaks at different frequencies. They extend beyond the range of my hearing which creates a wonderful sense of air around me and the lows are as good as anything I've heard. They go lower than my open-backed headphones, but always feel controlled and in sync with the rest of the music. The build quality is fantastic and has removable MMCX cables. They came with both a single-ended cable and a balanced cable, but I don't have anything balanced (yet) so that one stayed in the box. They also came with a variety of ear tips which they claim change the sound signature of the headphones. Maybe, but I always prefer foam tips for isolation so I went straight for those.Simply put, for the money, these things run circles around all of the IEMs I own and if I ever lost these, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair. For reference, my music source is a Tidal subscription and I use MQA capable DACs that render the music at 24/96 or 24/88.2 which doesn't cut any frequencies at the top or bottom like other streaming services. My Tidal and DAC investment was hard to justify with my old IEMs, but I can tell the difference with the F9 PROs.

An additional £25 to get another pair under warranty
Update: yesterday whilst walking the dog the sound went strange. Losing the singers voice, bass and everything else was fine.Amazon have agreed to return them but are unable to replace these under warranty. So because I purchased these whilst on offer I now have to pay an addition £25 if I want the same item. Not sure how trading standards would see this.. beware of amazon third party sellers. These are excellent earphones. I have been using these for close to a year with my Samsung s8. The sound quality is really nice, with the right quality music these sound as good as my oppo's.The replaceable cables are a bonus, having put a lot of good earphones in the bin because the cable was broken, eaten by the dog or pulled by mistake.Sound quality - greatFit - greatCost - great (for less than £100 these are an on par with bose and beats)I had one small issue, one of the back covers came off. A tiny amount of glue and 2 minutes later all fixed. Perfect ever since.I have owned a lot of headphones over the years and these tick all the boxes. If you are looking some reasonably priced, great sounding earphone that punch well above its price range these are for you. Sure you could spend 100's and not match these for quality /cost..
