It really works
The instructions say to bury these three quarters deep in the garden soil, and the slugs will smell the beer that you fill them with, and they will party all night and be drowned dead by morning. I thought this was suspect, but they were cheap, so I tried it. They actually work quite well. They say you can use any beer, because it's the malt smell the slugs are attracted to, but I'm a beer snob so I used Troeg's Troegenator Double Bock beer. Super malty. I just dump them in the toilet every other day or so, and rinse them out, refill with beer, and put them back in the hole. The little lids keep the rain out so they don't overflow during storms. The only thing is that now I think the slugs are looking for pretzels too.

Finally a slug trap that works!
I’ve tried many slug traps and other gimmicks, but this really works. Very happy with the purchase.

Good overall.
This was a grand idea to protect our neighbor’s cat’s food and water dishes on our porch. The cat refuses to stay home, so we take care of him. But the slugs have become a problem on our porch. I’ve googled the best ways to remove them from the porch. This was one of them. However, when I tried to have them get death by “intoxication,” they outsmarted us when one fell for the trap. They acted as though it was a new bar in town and went “home.” Soo onto our next idea.I truly hope these have worked for others though. This is just my one time experience using these.

Not good if you have a puppy…he digs them up and dumps the poison out

Sort of works...
Super easy to setup...either above ground or on ground. I used a yeast solution. Poured it and placed the cover. One slug so far...will see how many more these traps will catch. Going out tonight with a flashlight to see how many are congregating around the traps.

Easy To Use
I know I can also just stick a found plastic container in the ground and have a free slug trap but I really like these as they have a cover and don't look too bad when they are visible from my patio. The advantage of using found plastic containers is you can discard the whole thing after it is full of slugs instead of the dump and clean you would need to do with these.I plan to use a combination of both because we also have giant African snails here and some of those will not fit through the slot.
