I have two 3d printers, both of which had a raspberry pi 3b+ on it running octopi. With the scarcity of raspberry pis lately, I wanted to try an orange pi to see if there was any noticable difference. So I ordered this, put the orange pi ocotpi image on it and was up and running within minutes. Absolutely zero difference in performance as far as I can tell. The only thing is there's only one USB port, so I used a USB hub to plug in my printer and my webcam to it, it worked fine. Also, you'll need to google the specific orange pi octopi image for this.

I have two. One was used for OctoPrint with my 3d printer. The other is used for Pi-Hole to suppress advertisements on my home network. Handy devices and easy to setup.

Ordered 3 Then ordered 3 more. Stable so far. Light workloads here. Smokeping probe, RIPE ATLAS probe, Tailscale relay for very light traffic. The only downside is that you can't just download debian or ubuntu arm64 and go for it. They do require Armbian builds or custom builds off github or other third party repos. I have some Orangepi 5 as well for heavier stuff and am equally happy with them so far.

I have purchased three of these in the last 6 months. 2 have died. its only a $35 board, but i have $5 esp32 that run and haven't failed in a couple of years. its really frustrating since these devices were meant to act as a dns server and since they cant stay alive i have to reconfigure my network. Do not put these devices anywhere where they may experience a power outage as that is what seems to have killed two of mine. Outside of not trusting they will work, they are capable little devices. disappointed that they are so fragile

Easy to configure and run with Klipper and my Ender 3V2.

With Raspberry Pi units being really hard to get the last few years, and exorbitant prices or bundles required this is a great alternative. I am using this to run octoprint for my 3d printer, it works well for that purpose.One challenge I did encounter, some versions of the OS I downloaded had driver problem for external displays, this was resolved with some research and downloading an older version of the OS.If you are ok spending time fiddling a little more than with a pi, or need something now, this is a great alternative.

This little workhorse is fantastic when I installed OctiPrint and connected it to my Ender series 3D printer. I was using a Pi 4B, but this little thing outperforms the Pi, is smaller, and with better WiFi reception.

Can't get the images provided on Orange pi website to install on the system. Tried both Debian and Android. The nic card flashes and the power lights never come on. Tried 5 sd cards and even returned the first Orange Pi 0 2 and ordered another of the Orange PI zero 2 from amazon and the same fail happened. I ordered the official charger and that didn't help. Tried multiple HDMI cables, not output. used NIC and it did not show up on my network. I've used raspberry pi 4/3b/zero, and zero w, ESP 32/8266, Libre Potato, Libre Rebel, Nvidia Jetson and never had as difficult setup process. Burning an image to SD card is something I've done over 50 times. One card failing is what I would call a defective unit, two in a row is a failure on the part of Orange Pi engineers and quality control team. Am I supposed to buy three and hope the third works? Even sadder is this is model 2 of Orange Pi zero, they should have ironed out the kinks already.
