I purchased these for the range and for hunting.There are very few electronic ear pro options out there that have deep cups for good, solid decibel reduction. I previously had the Howard Leight Impact sports, but in order to shoot 5.56 or anything bigger, you would need to double up with foam plugs in addition to the impact sports to not destroy your ear drums.After being to the range several times, I can say that these are awesome. I purchased an adapter that hooks up to my comms, although admittedly I have yet to use it.I do have three complains:1) The sound levels for the amplification could be higher.2) The strap thing that goes over the head is kind of gimmickey, I just removed mine.3) The mic is not removable and gets in the way and there's no evident way to remove it without destroying it.Beyond that, they're pretty solid for the price. I'd buy again.

Good for hearing those around you, but the coms don't work. You can't hear anyone talking and when a transmission comes in you lose all hearing. Way to sensitive for the sound suppression, it muted on a twig snapping 20 feet away. Don't waste your money on this.

These are for cosplay not actual use. you cannot hold a conversation while shooting with them (which you can do with proper electronic hearing protection, which is sold on amazon for under 40 dollars. like howard leights). any sort of noise thats over the cutoff level instantly kills the electronic sound reproduction feature for about 2 seconds. proper electronic earpros dont do this they continue reproducing the lower volume sounds continuously while simply filtering out the loud ones. these dont do that all. they just basically turn off anytime theres a moderately loud noise, for almost 2 seconds. horrible horrible product. wouldnt recommend unless its for dressup at comicon or something. not even good for airsoft comms.

I haven't had a chance to try these in the field yet, but test in the shop have been positive. I'm using them with the Baofeng adapter on a UV-82 and comms is very good. The PTT only operates the B (bottom) display. That's not a problem, just something to be aware of.
