Works well until recently.
Been using this setup for approx 6 months, pretty consistently. I usually spend about 5 hours a week "machine on time". Sometimes in the middle of a large project, about medium flow this pump gets hot and doesn't move any air. Just a grinding motor noise. Checked my nozzle, all clear and clean. Removes the hose from the pump. No flow. Cranked it all the way up. Noise is louder but no flow. Let it cool down 15 minutes, flows normally now at all speeds. Something tells me the motor is overheating with extended use. It's in an open and clean environment. I have disassembled and checked for blockages etc. Everything appears normal so I have left the ends of the case off it for quick inspections should it act up again.

Easy way to clean the laser cut
Verdict: Does what it's supposed toAdding the air assist pump really cleaned up the laser edge and allowed the laser to cut almost 20 percent deeper.I'm using this with the Genmitsu laser module on a Genmitsu 4030 PROVerXL. Had no problems getting this pump to work with it.Don't expect a gale of wind to come out of this. I've got this pump running at max and that seems to be a good level of air pressure.Overall, I'm happy with pump. There are complaints about long term reliability so I'll have to see how it holds up.Side Note:The 12V 5A supply rating seems like overkill. The max current draw I got was 0.6A at max airflow. The current rose to 0.9A when airflow was restricted. A more appropriate supply is 12V 1A (or 12V 2A at most). If you need more convincing, this product seems identical to the Genmitsu air assist which only calls for 12V 1A.

It is a great little pump.
I would have given it a 5 but it did not run when I received it. I checked my power supply and it was fine so I opened the unit and the Motor was not plugged into the circuit board. But by looking inside I was impressed with the overall quality. I plugged the motor in and it is quiet and should do what I need it to.

Was expecting more power at first glance
Once I found a 12vdc 5a power supply I wasHappy to turn it on and the amount of airflow was much weaker than I expected for the price. It is however nice and compact. Once I connect it to my laser I will update.Update: I 3d printed a nozzle to direct the air and wowing was mistaken this pushes plenty of air no visible smoke or fire just a gliding spark on wood. I would recommend

Does exactly what I needed
I got this for my K40 as I didn’t want to mess with a big air compressor. It’s simple, fairly quiet even on high and works perfectly for the cutting and engraving I’ve been doing on plywood and acrylic. For the plug and play aspect I’m perfectly happy with the price. Plus I bolted it onto the side of my laser so it’s not taking up space either.

Nice Quiet Pump!
The first air assist pump I purchased did not work will, however I was sent a replacement and pump has been working great! Great addition to my Atomstack laser.

Get the insurance plan to protect yourself
I picked up the little pump and stuck it on a custom Diode laser engraver. Nothing wild and crazy here. It worked like a charm for perhaps 65 hrs of usage and than it started to get clunky and than froze up within a single project (perhaps a 3 hr cut job).I really liked the pump because I stuck it on a relay output from my Trocen awc708 and could select air assist within program.I did not get the insurance and so have to rebuild it or replace it, or what I'll probably do it put in a pneumatic relay to my mini compressor.

Underpowered for the intended task beyond the lowest powered laser head
Noisy for the strength, seems to randomly ramp up and down (could be power quality in my home). But event though not a horrible pump, the high setting is ok for some stuff, but really underpowered if exceeding the 5W optical output default laser. Running a 20W optical output laser and it's almost like there is no air assist when this is connected. From a config point of view, it would be nice if the output port was in the front, so the pump could sit back and out of the way. Also, even though it plugs into the FoxAlien Reiser controller board, there is zero control, other than the physical controls on the front of the unit. Would have thought there'd be a chance you could control it with Gcode.Nozzle is amazing though, just be careful if no air flow, I had it plug up solid in during a 1 minute cut...and took me a few attempts to realize I couldn't cut because the nozzle was a solid block of wood dust that the laser couldn't get through. But that is user error (forgot to turn on air assist). Nozzle is top notch quality and seems to direct air well enough to keep cuts super clean.

Does not come with nozzle
The pump itself is great, but don’t expect to use it out of the box. You will still require the nozzle which is sold separately.

It does the job
Works as advertised. A little expensive but a good buy.
