An amazing contribution
Perhaps, this is the only one of its kind great treasure concieved and written by a scholar like you. The way you have selected the topics and shlokas at random from Valmiki, Kambar, Tulsidas, discussed the characters, culture, philosophy, moral values and spritual truths of the many personalities of the great epic Ramayana and their achievements is really amazing. It carries invaluable potential knowledge for the readers. Receiving this book is like withdrawing great knowledge from the ATM called Prof Krishnamurthy.Appreciate your remembering and sending me this book. My sincere thanks to you. Also a rare previlege to know about Grantha Script from the Appendices. Beautiful choices from three great exponents of Ramayana Epic. This treatise is a must read/study for anybody interested in Ramayana epic philosophical intricacies. The English translation is expertly lucid without compromising the poetic beauty of the original verses.

Dharma Rakshati Rakshitaha (He who safeguards Dharma, Dharma safeguards him)
My sincere love & Pranams to Prof. Sri V K Sir for this most precious gift. I personally vouch for respected Sir's life as an embodiment of a true Sadhak, worthy of the highest accolades. May His tribe increase. The great Swami Vivekanandaji spoke on Sitaji thus (few extracts):"The race that produced Sita, even if it only dreamt of her, has a reverence for woman that is unmatched on earth.Sita was chastity itself; she would never touch the body of another man except that of her husband. What to speak of Sita? You may exhaust the literature of the world that is past, and I may assure that you will have to exhaust the literature of the world of the future, before finding another Sita."Prof. Sri V K Sir's book, apart from other things, brought out the very reasons of her eternal beatitude... Amazing scholarly work
I have read the book ‘Ramayana Trio’ written by Prof V Krishnamurthy, published recently. It is a very unique, rare and one of its kind book on the subject. Writing a version on an epic like Ramayana is one thing, but to write a comparative study of the epic by three most famous and great authors like Valmiki – in Sanskrit language, Kamban – in Tamil language and Goswami Tulsidas – in Awadh is really a commendable venture. This clearly shows the versatility and thoroughness of knowledge of the author on the subject and his reverence to the Epic. The 150 ‘Snapshots’ from the epic explained in the book are well selected by the author and provides a very comprehensive understanding of the epic including the subtle variances of the three authors of the epic.A study of such a book besides enriching the knowledge would also enhance the moral and spiritual values in life for the readers. The core contents of the book are thoughtfully supplemented by the author with Appendices as additional explanations for better and valuable understanding of the readers. To quote a couple of examples: The appendix on ‘Vedic Undercurrent in Valmiki Ramayana’ is a very scholarly exposition by the author and the appendix on Phalasruti with a sample of Grantham script from the author’s father and guru Shri Vishwanatha Shastrigal is a very rare information and revelation for the present day readers.Excellent and useful cross references and parallels to Bhagavad Gita and other scriptures are appropriately mentioned as necessary by the author. To mention a few highlights from the snapshots:a) Most celebrated verse of Ramayana; b) Birth of Shloka and of Ramayana; c) Unique aspects of Valmiki Ramayana; d) Differences among the three epics (Valmiki, Kamban and Tulsidas) etc.To sum up, it is an excellent ‘single window’ reference handbook on the epic Ramayana with comparisons among three most famous authors of the epic namely Valmiki, Kamban and Goswami Tulsidas. Prof V Krishnamurthy, a nonagenarian has done a great service to society and posterity in conceiving and writing such a wonderful and enlightening book.Over to the readers, with pranaams and best wishes.D S Vijayakumar Dikshit.Retired Mech Engg.
