This neck protection is EXCELLENT, but itchy on the inside, which is easily fixable by adding a cotton lining on one side to prevent direct skin contact. Yes, I would buy it for other people, but always I would offer to make the modification. If you don't sew, you can always wrap a light cotton "scarf" underneath.Alternatively, it can be camoflagued with a pillow slip type cover, if it isn't being used for welding, which also would keep it clean.

Velcro doesn't line up right it doesn't feel right very stiff then very small and other places fabric isn't high quality fabric shrinks not usable.

I bought this guard for my 15 year old son who plays travel hockey. Trying to find a neck guard that fits and keeps your player safe is hard to do. Another hockey mom suggested it because it was a soft material. Most guards are scratchy due to the material and velcro. Plus, the coverage isn't that good. So I gave this a go and it was a disaster. He might as well go on the ice without a guard. It was like a cowl turtleneck. Plus, as my son stated, its not "sty". Okie dokie! If you are looking for a neck guard for hockey - this isn't it.
