Great Fuzz for Players Who Hate Fuzz!
Fuzz can be very subjective. One player's fuzz is another player's ungodly noise. I'm not big on metal distortion, preferring my Tubescreamer to handle the bulk of my grit when needed, and so I searched for a decent fuzz that would mix well with said Tubescreamer. I was using a Black Cat Super Fuzz which sounds great but was way over the top for my needs. I'd never heard of Caline Pedals before stumbling on a few video reviews on the 'Tube. What instantly caught my attention was the clarity. For a fuzz pedal, this thing is pretty transparent. Sure, you can get your vintage fuzz tones all the way up to grungy goodness, but my favorite thing about the Clear Veil is how well it mixes with my other boost/overdrive pedals. I have it set with minor grit, almost like a boost with a hint of fuzz for texture and sustain. In conjunction with my TS9 it absolutely sings! Not sure how well this pedal will hold up construction wise, but it seems about as solid as any of my other pedals. Gotta' say, for the price the Clear Veil offers great fuzz tones without breaking your wallet.
