A book for those who wish to delve a bit further to the crime fiction genre.
This book was a pleasant surprise for me, as it concerns the link between my two -academic and literary- passions: philosophy and crime fiction. The author, Josef Hoffmannm, offers some really interesting insights on a variety of subject areas relating to the book's main theme. I found the chapters on Ludwig Wittgenstein (an ardent reader of crime fiction), Albert Camus and the representation of death in today's novels of the genre to be the most interesting. Overall ''Philosophies Of Crime Fiction'' is an excellent introduction to the correlation between crime fiction and philosophy and also it is a book that can be read by anyone as it is written in a simple way, not demanding any previous reading experience. My precise rating would be closer to 3,5/5.
