Great Idea, Lousy Manufacturing !
I saw this item first and was really excited about it, specifically as amazon send the echo dots with these stupid power plugs. They are not made for cabinet use ... they rather stick out far. Really silly. So I liked the idea of this and ordered one to try it. First of all the color is not really white, more eggshell color like a lot of power outlets. If you actually have white, this will look silly.I got the USB cable out and connected it and it looked cool. I put it into a wall to try it with the intention to move it to its correct place later. It worked great and was exactly what I wanted. Then i decided to move it to the correct place and as I pulled it carefully out of the wall, the power plug opened up and fell apart. Now I wasn't sure how to pull the plug out without turning the power off. That was a bummer. I thought about gluing it together as I hate to return things I actually like, But as I pulled the USB plug out of the actual echo that one pulled out as well and was now sticking out half loose. At this point I decided this is not manufactured real well and I will return it. Such a bummer as this is such a great idea.Update: After I returned the item, the manufacturer contacted me and apologized to me. And even though I returned the item, the person sent another one for free to me as make-up for the trouble. So I had returned the troubled one and received a good one with no problems as free replacement. Now that's customer service. Thanks for that. I love the one I have now and I actually may get more for the other dots I have. I use them as music everywhere and intercom. Increasing rating to 5 stars. These guys rock.

This mount is awesome !
This mount is awesome! Very neat & not bulky. I mounted it sideways as per placement of the outlet I used in my Kitchen high over a counter top. I will use this Echo Dot for many things in my Kitchen where I also have a small dining table. I'll use it for when I need a cooking timer & ask Alexa to set a timer alarm I may need for cooking & when Dinner is served My Wife & I can listen to Romantic music with Candle light, or any other Genre we wish while cooking or having Dinner. There are 2 ways I know of how to control the Volume. Say "Alexa, Volume up or down or, Alexa, Volume 10 to get the highest Volume or 5 for halfway & so on. I now have 3 Echo units online & there is a command to have all 3 play Music at the same time where ever they may be. Such an incredible device to have in your home. I have another Dot in my Computer Den hooked up to my Stereo System. Alexa helps me every day when writing Emails or reports with spelling. Just ask her to spell anything. She's also useful for Answers to Math questions. Just ask, Alexa,, what is the square root of 7 as an example, or any other problem, or any event in World History, or Weather & Time anywhere in the World. Alexa is connected to what is known as an AI Brain Cloud connected to the Internet to get the answers you need. I just asked her to give me my order status on amazon & now She will auto give me notifications of Shipping status. Her AI blows my mind every day.

What I loved about "This Dottie Plug-In-Mount" was the fact that the ...
I wanted something clean looking to house my two Echo Dots (black & white). What I loved about "This Dottie Plug-In-Mount" was the fact that the USB cable stays hidden. This is in comparison to other similar products with an exposed cable. Aesthetically, it's formed at it's minimal shape to hold the power brick in place and hide the cable. In my opinion, it looks much better when plugged into the bottom outlet with the Echo Dot on top, however this orientation blocks the other socket. If you have one of those loose sockets that doesn't seem to hold plugs in too well, then try inserting it with the Echo Dot in the bottom position.I can't really see any negatives about This Dottie Plug-In-Mount, except if you're concerned with Third Party cables and power bricks. I can't really speak on some people receiving damaged USB cables or non working adapters, but the two I received arrived perfectly fine and functional. So far, I'm two and a half months in with this product, but will update this review if anything changes.Pros:- Looks great- Hides the cable- Holds the Echo Dot securelyCons:- 3rd Party Cable & Power Adapter (not really a con, but might be a concern to others)

An unobtrusive, low-profile mount for your 2nd generation Dot
If you have a 2nd Generation Dot that you want to mount unobtrusively you'll be hard-pressed to find a mount that has a lower profile than this one. It comes with a very short power cord which allows you to plug your Dot directly into an electric outlet. The result is that your Dot is mounted to the wall, has a continuous source of power, and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. The buttons are still accessible, you can still see the indicator light ring, and the sound isn't compromised at all. (That said, if you've read my reviews of the 2nd and 3rd generation Dots you know that as much as I love these devices I don't consider them good for listening to music because their speakers are just too small to provide a satisfying listening experience.)My only complaint is that the mount is a little pricey for what it is... but then, what other options do you have that aren't eyesores?VERY happy with this mount.

Great product, works well. No ugly cords showing.
This is just exactly what I needed to get the Dot off the bathroom counter and out of the way, but still be able to use it easily. I'm especially pleased that the cord is invisible. It includes a short cord to connect the holder to the Dot, and it fits inside the 'arm' of the holder. This is the reason I chose this product, as many of the similar ones have a loop or cord hanging out, and I don't see what the point of that is, plus it looks untidy.I do think it may be slightly louder because of the 'bounce off the wall' effect of having the Dot in this position. I think if it had the 3rd prong for the plug, it would be a little more stable, but it seems to be fine so far anyway. I'm thinking of getting another one of these for another Dot. Although my Dots are all white, they all have the black top, and since that's all you see with this, I don't think it really makes much difference if you get black or white.
