Nice for the most part, but instructions don't match the product--confusing setup/adjustment
This fits reasonably well, though the large size for the sizing range mentioned cuts it pretty close at the top end, fitting very, very snugly to the point of some discomfort.I wish the straps had more padding and were more comfortable. There is a small padded piece that comes with these, but the instructions don't explain where you put it, though I think we figured it out anyway (near the chin area, but only if if the strap adjustments allow it). And, the main complaint: this helmet seems to be a very nice helmet. BUT it has an instruction card with it that explains how TWO different strap closures work--and NEITHER ONE is what this helmet uses. No explanation of the best-practice for adjusting these safely. And, again, if you spend some time with it, you'll eventually kinda figure it out, but we had a lot of loose strap we didn't know what to do with, and it was only after finding the small padded piece that we concluded it must be used to hold the strap slack in some fashion, and so that's what we did.The black color we got does seem to attract and retain heat from the sun during rides, so you might want a lighter color if that's a concern for you.Anyway, if you're willing to figure it out on your own, then I guess I'd recommend this helmet. It looks good, feels good (according to the end user in my family that isn't me, anyway), and while the straps are a bit confining and scratchy, the clasp is solid, with a nice quick-release mechanism. I've seen other reviews mention visible styrofoam inside the helmet, but that's not the case with the one we received.

The absolute perfect DOT approved SXS riding helmet!
Recently needed to get a DOT approved helmet to ride my SXS on a new trail system. I hate wearing helmets on a sxs. ATV, yes I will 100% wear a full faced helmet, but not on a sxs. I had been wearing a super light and comfy helmet that was basically a bicycle helmet. I tried on dozens that made my head look like a mushroom and were so heavy I felt like an infant trying to hold up my head. I stumbled upon this one and am so glad I did.The fit is fantastic for my head. Measure your head first! Mine measured out to be within the L size, and it feels amazing. It is extremely low profile, like very low profile. It's honestly probably tighter to my head than the glorified bicycle helmet I was wearing before. Is it actually DOT approved? Couldn't tell you, but I bet it's probably not. But, the DOT paint on the back looks legit and it will keep me from getting a ticket! If you're going to be riding a motorcycle, I might look into something that is a little heavier duty to protect you from the hardtop. But if you are needing one for my same purpose, do it and don't look back!
