I purchased this with great anticipation. I bought specifically to slice ginger to make pickled ginger. The photo is accurate,but deceptive. The unit is poorly designed (functionally). The blade caddy and the safety slicer knob DO NOT store in the unit. In addition,the slicer box has a curved end that has a lip that is folded over leaving a 1/8” gap that is nearly impossible to clean thoroughly and can not be toweled dry. It must be left to air dry before putting it away. Lastly,and for me,most important: the slicer blade became too dull to smoothly slice the ginger after only slicing 2lbs of ginger. The blades are not interchangeable. I am very disappointed. It was very inexpensive which should have been my tip off before I bought it. My bad.

The "ergonomic" handler was depicted to be really good, however, it should be designed stronger. The pins holding the food are easy to fall off. For mine, three of them (totally 6) fell off for my first potato cutting. I mounted them back by a plier but maybe not all of the customer in amazon could do this. Probably gentler slicing is better for this.Another complaint is you do not want to use the space for the finger to disamount the blade. After some work, the blade is quite tight due to the food debries, so you should push on the back but not dig it out by your finger from front, otherwise it is highly possible you cut your finger (because I did).I do not have complains on other aspects. All in all it is not satisfying.

BROKE during my first potato.. really bummed ... I was so excited to use it.

Didn’t last me a month. The guard to help you hold the vegetable (onion), the prongs started breaking off in the first week of owning it.

Not as sharp and useful as I had hoped.

I got this as a gift for my mother and she stated that it was very annoying to use. She complained about putting too much pressure to slice potatoes into thin slices for making homemade potato chips.

What I dislike is that this thing is it broke the first time I took it out of the box and tried to use it. Not only is the blade size terrible for waffle fries (main reason I bought the slicer) but the thing cannot even handle slicing potatoes.

They actually sent me a different one. Mine is great. Slice zucchini for vegetable lasagna. No animal fat. No heart attack.
