Works, Picture Quality is Terrible
Too good to be true for the $. Easy set up using AirPlay with Mac OS, but the picture quality is terrible even for a static presentation - everything is fuzzy and text is hard to read.

not just a dongle... a bit misleading
while the photo and description suggest this is device is just a plug-and-play widget which requires no wires, it actually requires a two-wire attachment (one wifi antenna and one usb plug for power - NOTE- no AC/DC converter plug is supplied).ALSO - To screen mirror to this device requires linking via the device's unique WIFI signal, this means your laptop can not be Online on your wifi router at the same time...defeats the purpose of streaming internet from laptops. phones will burn data instead of WIFI....UNLESS (here's the catch for both phones and laptops) you link this device to a WIFI router through a 3rd party App. (which will gather data on your data usage for who-knows-what nefarious purpose ;-) happy tinkering

Not worth the time
huge pain to set up to not even work, and not worth the time, money, or effort. Don't waste your time and invest money into a product worth it.

It works with an old hdmi TV if...
I really owe this review, because my question when it wasn't working got a very negative answer from a customer that didn't do justice to the product. Wish I remembered earlier. It is definitely inexpensive, and there is a tiny lag, but it worked even with a 10 year old TV with hdmi, AFTER I plugged it in, and turned both the TV and device off. not too much to ask considering the cost. Please also note, on some smartphones Miracast might require you to either have a wifi router, or download an app, so do check out what your phone does. Didn't take tech expertise to use it.

The one I got was hacked / or a scam
While installing, I was directed to a page to start an account (supposedly with the manufacturer) with a $0.00 subscription. My first card failed, I then went to a second one as the first regularly blocks (phishing) charges like these. It failed as well... before I started on a 3rd, I received a fraud alert saying that $39.99 had been charged to my 1st card. It was also charged to the second card. I managed to get ahold of the 3rd party company charging me and cancelled the "Subscription" (which would have been recurring).
