FJM Security 2400AL-KA Tubular Cam Lock with 1-1/8" Cylinder and Chrome Finish, Keyed Alike

Bought these for a project I had, but they didn't work for what I needed them for. They are well built, but I measured wrong, so its no fault of the seller. I ordered the right ones I needed, and now these sit on a box on my shelf waiting for another project one day.

Locks do what it says, and appear sturdy.Concerns: First shipment of two locks came in well-worn "Zip-loc" type baggies, with some holes in them. Probably due to this, one lock was missing the cam. Seller replaced it promptly and paid return shipping on incomplete set.The first two and the third replacement lock were all keyed the same. That is what I was hoping for, but had no way of specifying it, nor do I think the seller knew the key pattern for the ones I first received. So makes me wonder if all of these types of locks are identically keyed, significantly reducing the value of getting these in the first place (as replacements for standard RV storage door locks).

I share an office and therefore can't rely on having exclusive access to my desk. After a few things went missing from my desk (namely my illegal narcotics and trashy movie collection) I decided it was time to lock it up. My first idea of a hungry rottweiler was denied by my company, unfortunately. This lockset fit perfectly in the location that the old lockset was in, and it came with a new cam and swappable plate that sets the direction of the rotation. Now before I go on my days off I leave dirty diapers or rotten fish in my desk just to tick off my officemate, and he can't get in the desk to remove it! I did find the desk outside once, so there's that.

I bought three of these locks to replace the generic CH751 locks on the storage compartments on an RV.Installation was easy and it appeared that the locks worked well, but a day later I discovered that I could not unlock one of the locks. My guess is that the key must have come out of the lock before it had completed the full 90 degree rotation during the locking process.Therefore the slot on the inner barrel was at about 45 degrees instead of the full 90.Well at this position it is impossible to reinsert the key and I was stuck with a locked compartment.I determined that if I "modified" a spare key, I was able to finally unlock the compartment.I thought this was probably a one time occurrence but a week later I found a different lock had the same problem. My modified key easily opened this lock too.My guess is that for the lock to operate properly, one must push in with constant pressure on the key through the complete rotation of locking or unlocking this lock to keep this from happening.Otherwise the lock performs well.

The locks are well made and solid. Comes with the key gateway so I can remove the key after I unlock storage compartment. All locks keyed the same as I requested. The bar that comes with the lock does not work for my installation. I thought the bar from the old locks would transfer over. The old locks are a different brand and bars would not fit. Ordered different bars, they came and all is installed and working well. Now I don't feel like the old style key is going to bend and snap off in the lock.

Yup, thousands of RVs have been built with the same key for their external storage bins. This upgrade isn't exactly bulletproof either, but it's a whole lot better than the original. While you are at it, you might spend the extra six bucks or so for a metal mounting plate so the lock won't spin in it's mounting.

Needed two tubular cam locks to replace the locks on the pannier bags on my motorcycle. I bought the bike used and the keys were lost on the originals. Thanks to the excellent description and actual design drawings with measurements I was able to determine this would be an exact replacement for the originals. Received them quickly and installed them without issue. The keys and tumblers work perfectly. I haven't had a chance to subject them to long term weather test but I would imagine with proper lubrication these will last as long as the bags will.

I bought these locks to replace the standard storage door locks on our travel trailer which were becoming loose. They fit well and were easy to install. They are keyed alike so all the keys will unlock/lock the storage door on both sides of the trailer.

Many RV's built today use one of several keys to open their baggage doors, and all of these can be purchased at RV parts counters. The positive side is if you lose your key, chances are good one of you neighbours in the campground can open it for you. On the security side that is NOT the best situation. I installed the above mentioned locks and yet to run across another RV with them. They are easy to install but you may have to modify the latch to extend it to lock properly. I also purchased a spring loaded cover for weather protection as we live in the Pacific Northwest and it rains a lot. The quality is good and they will do the job for you with better security than OEM in many cases.Barry

I've bought these before and have always been pleased with their quality. So, when needed some more, I didn't hesitate to buy again. Would highly recommend if you're looking to replace CH751 keyed locks.
