For the money.... a GOOD deal
A lot of misinformation posted in these threads so here's the accurate info as far as I can tell you. I bought one of these and have used it for 2 months. It's a REAL bargain if you're in the USA and want to be able to play DVDs from other regions. It provides the utility of machines costing over $100. I have no problem paying PAL Region 2 (UK, Europe) DVDs. I can't speak for other regions, although the machine is advertised as "all-region."It does come with a power adapter for US outlets. It does have only the RCA type connection, with the three colored cables, red, yellow and white. NO S connector, no Hi-def connector. If you want to play in HD this is NOT the player for you, you'll need to spend $100 or thereabouts. I have found the playback quality adequate, although it clearly is not hi-def.The box, manual and the on-screen programming on my unit was all written in Portuguese. I think this unit was designed for sale in Brazil. I don't care. It took me 2 minutes to figure out how to change the on-screen language to English. It comes with a remote, which is very helpful for operating it, although NOT absolutely essential since there are buttons on the unit for basic functions like ON/OFF, OPEN/CLOSE, PLAY, STOP. But the remote is nice to have. I suspect a universal remote could be programmed to work with this, since it is a Sony product, just in case the supplied remote ever got lost or damaged. The DVD tray is cheap plastic and appears rather delicate so I suggest using the remote to open AND close it---I wouldn't recommend pushing it by hand since this could break it or put it out of alignment. The unit is very small which is a selling point for me since my entertainment center is crowded with equipment.Bottom line, usually you get what you pay for, and for a decent CHEAP unit made by a major electronics manufacturer designed to play DVDs from outside Region 1, it's a nice bargain unit. If, like me, you use your heavy duty DVD player for most of your Region 1 DVD viewing and only use this for the occasional foray into Region 2 (when it's a lot cheaper than Region 1, or completely unavailable in Region 1) I suspect you'll get several years of trouble-free use out of this machine. If you make it your primary and use it constantly.... well it is lightweight and looks somewhat delicate so then I'd suggest buy a second one to avoid frustration if it breaks on you. For the $38 I paid, I wouldn't even bother sending it back for replacement or repair---not worth the time and trouble.

A NICE EASY TO OPERATE BASIC MULTI REG.PLAYER at a GREAT PRICE
The Sony dvpsr370 is my second purchase of this item(1st was.the 320 not available but almost identical) I.was so impressed with a mini multi region player at this price I felt this would make a great gift. What you should be aware of is the instructions are in spanish. This is really not important as it uses a 3 color coded connectors (thats the" wires" for those not familiar with terminology of electronic components). Almost every tv and cable unit are colored the same.way. (red, yellow.and white.sometimes there is a blue input but it doesnt pertain to this model) .So the set up for connecting the dvd player is a snap. The remote which is included needs to be set for english (as.in my case) . Go to the display button on the remote and scroll down to the language you desire. Once your language has been chosen the set up is displayed and choose your needs . Yes the remote is marked in english.I have played dvds from 3 regions 0,1, 2. I can only assume from the use of my model 320 that all regions (it is marked multi region player 370 ) it will play dvds from all over . Most dvds are 1 and 2 some 4 . As far as formats it plays mp3 cds .There are no ports other than input and out for hookups so I believe any other form would need to go into your computer. Hey for $40 it is a great.buy but has limitations. It plays great ,is easy to operate and is small in size which is important in space saving.Anyone who is more familiar with this set should.correct me but I think I have touched most bases. I think you will be.pleased with the quality and ease of operating this unit. This is a basic unit that performs nicely .No frills but does the job..

DOES NOT play all regions as advertised - BEWARE
Pretty good region free DVD player. The menu's seem to come up in Portuguese or Spanish (not sure) and I can't seem to change it to English, but because the player is so basic, you can pretty much figure things out. Price was great, and it's nice to be able to play region free DVD's.1/27/2016 UPDATE: Well, after almost 6 months, I have realized that the machine I received DOES NOT play all regions. I had mistakenly assumed that all of my British DVD's were 2 and were playing just fine in this player. I was also confused by the fact that the on screen menu's were in Portuguese. After much trial and error, I was able to adjust the menus to English, but it was at this point that I realized that a few of my DVD's were getting error messages (I couldn't read them in Portuguese). Turns out that the import DVD's I had been playing were all Region 0 - Region Free...thus, no problem playing. But the Region 2 DVD's all return an error message. I don't think that this occurred when I changed the menu language to English from Portuguese, although it is possible....rather, I'm pretty sure that it was never region free, as many other reviews have stated. I checked the internet for hacks to manually change the player to region free, but the consensus is that Sony (who helped to develop/establish the DVD regions initially) has these puppies TOTALLY LOCKED DOWN. No chance of a hack to correct. Long Story short, when I assumed that this player was truly region free, It was a good deal. Very cheaply constructed, but what the heck, it was cheap. Now that I realize my error, I would say that the marketing of this unit SUCKS and it was a total waste of cash. It's also way too late to try to return it. My Bad. BEWARE
