Book arrived in good condition and on time
Bought this book for a chair based exercise class I run for Age UK. It has all the exercises I need to run an hour long class. Most can be adapted for standing behind the chair for those more able than others. A good buy.

Returned I think
As said before I have Multiple Sclerosis and these exercises were for more able bodied people than I am. I hope I returned this and if I didn’t it wasn’t for me and I should have.

Tender Yet Dynamic
I truly do not go for exercise books. I'd rather have DVD's. But this was all I could find that would fit my needs. Frankly, I was ready to be disappointed and since I'm on a tight budget would have been upset with myself for wasting good money on garbage. Well, I'm here to tell you it isn't garbage. It is very easy to understand and follow and when I do the exercises I feel no strain despite the fact that I have degenerative spine disease and knees that like to give out when I'm walking. Because of these two health issues, I needed to find something that would help me reduce my excessive weight gain caused from inactivity and medication in a sit down manner. About 3 months ago I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. That is not acceptable to me so here I am with Get Fit While You Sit to help me attain a healthier body and body weight. To me, this is a win-win situation. I won when the book turned out to be great and I win when I get this excess baggage off my body and strengthen it. So, in conclusion, if you, unfortunately, have problems similar to mine I do recommend this book. I still would like to have seen an addition of a DVD just to visually run through the moves.

Perfect workout for recovery from a long illness
I was looking for a very easy workout to do during my recovery, mainly to keep my muscles from atrophying, and this was just what I needed. I started with the short, 10 minute workouts in the back (though they were included for those who are busy) and each week did a little more until I worked up to being able to use light weights. It was wonderful having exercises I could do from my chair before I was well enough to be up and around. I felt so much better being able to stretch and move without overdoing it.Not all of the exercises in the book can be done while sitting, but most of them can - even a modified version of sit-ups, which is much easier on my back than sit-ups are!It was worth paying a little extra for the spiral-bound version, as it's nice having the book lie flat on the table while I exercise instead of having to hold it open.

Good photos and ideas for chair fitness. Modify these exercises for frailer seniors.
Good book on ideas for chair fitness-- can be used for chair, sedentary people who are at their desks.
