Inspiring
Phoebe Omlie lived her life without fear, where no wall could be broken down and nothing was unattainable. Walking on Air takes you through her life growing up in the midwest with every obstacle that folks faced during the early 1900's. Phoebe set out to do what was unheard of and accomplished what others could not do. Through injuries and missteps, tragic losses and failures, she always got back up with surprising renewed energy. She represents what we all wish we could be but not without flaws. Her legacy still remains as a somewhat forgotten part of history and this book will fill every reader with smiles and motivation. Highly recommended for history buffs, those interested in women's history and aviation enthusiasts as well.

Fascinating!
An amazing account of aviator Phoebe Omlie's dare-devil, heroic life. Historian Janann Sherman, through her meticulous research and inquisitive mind, documents this mostly forgotten heroine's achievements. Highly recommended!
