Broken and frayed cord.
We purchased this patio umbrella at the end of May 2023 and certainly expected it to last longer than 3 months. The lifting cord broke and frayed resulting in not being able to open the umbrella. We’ve had other patio umbrellas and have to say we’ve never had a cord break! Very disappointed!We never heard from the company after reporting this issue! Buyer beware! Replacing the cord is quite the project!The cord replacement cord has now broken—-replaced again! Hope it lasts the summer!

The absolute worst umbrella. DON’T BUY!
This umbrella is a huge disappointment. We saw all of the many positive reviews and decided to buy one of these for our patio table. The day we received it, it appeared to be perfect. That night, we lowered it and covered it with an umbrella cover to protect it. The next day, we removed the cover, tried to crank the handle and nothing happened. It wouldn’t lift at all because the string/cord that had been at the underside near the top when we opened it the first time had disappeared. We surmised that the cord that allows it to be opened had gone down back inside the pole. At that point, there was no way for us to retrieve it so we got it back into the box (not an easy feat) and hauled it to UPS. Thinking it was a one-off and that the one we got had been a lemon, we decided to return it for a replacement of the same size and color. The 2nd umbrella arrived the following week and we were very excited to have finally gotten one that we’d be able to use….only we didn’t. We opened it for the first time and it was great. We lowered the umbrella that evening and when we went to open it for only the second time, the exact same thing happened. The string/cord that had been at the top had vanished. It had been reeled back up inside of the tube, rendering it completely unusable, just like the original. We believe the issue, aside from the cord not being attached to the spoke hub, is that the knot(s) tied at the end of the cord (when it’s being manufactured) aren’t large enough to prevent the entire cord from going back into the hole and retracting. We’ve requested a refund from Amazon and UPS picked up the replacement umbrella today. It’s a shame as had it not been for this critical part failure, the actual umbrella had seemed to be pretty well made. We’re going to take our refund and try another brand. Also, there are NO instructions included with this product. We didn’t get any with the first one and we didn’t get any with the second one. My attempts to contact the manufacturer about the problem were in vain.

Does not crank up
The umbrella does not crank-up. It appears it is missing the internal rope/pulley. Contacted manufacturer and they told me to contact Amazon customer service via email. Amazon CS told me to contact the manufacturer. At this juncture, I’m just going to return. Frustrating!***Update: the company offered me a 9’ umbrella. I said “No! I paid for a 10’ umbrella”. Their excuse is my color was backordered 2 months. Guess what? It’s on Amazon for $50 more than I paid!***Update 2: Someone had already returned this umbrella!! Their return label was on the inside box with the words on the box exterior stating “does not open”. Seriously???

Broke after a few uses but great customer service
I actually love the color, material and everything but the crank broke after a few uses. Waiting for customer service to respondCustomer service responded with this post (I think it is linked incorrectly through amazon). They responded quickly & very professionally, and sent a replacement frame. I think the frame is heavy for this rectangle umbrella but is beautiful.

I am disappointed
I have purchased this umbrella 3 times. The first one worked beautifully and there was no problem with it and it is still working. I purchased a second one and it worked for a day and it would not go up. I returned it for a third one which was working beautifully for the last month. Today it did NOT go up. I am very disappointed. I love the color!!!Please advise me as to what I can do with it. I want you to know that too.Nat Goldstein.
